They learn how to be quiet and meek, and the younger sisters have a Keepers at Home group where they learn how to cook and such things. The ladies also have a weekly meeting where there is teaching and encouragement. There have been times where women have asked questions on Wednesday night, but it is more common for them to just testify or give their input on something, but it is not teaching. They do not prepare lessons for the men, and they speak in the Wednesday night group, since it's a bit more of a free-style format. On Sunday's however, they do not ask questions or speak out of turn.
As for service, a lot of the sisters in their teenage-early 20s do food pantry work, and they serve in Sunday school and other things.

I suppose it goes without saying that women in your church are not allowed to attend school beyond their senior year?

We have a sister in college right now. Actually there is one brother (me) and one sister in my assembly currently in college, the rest have careers (we are only an assembly of about 70). As for being "fun", it is what it is... we're not going to throw out the 2000 year old plan for GOD's people to fit in and be cool-wacky charismatics!

Re: Paul And Women Teachers.
I believe God's Plan was for the two (male and female) whether in the home or in
a place of worship, to be a team. Teamwork makes the dream work! Because of
disobedience to God's Word, God gave man the responsibility of working by the
sweat of his brow. And the woman would bear the children and stay home and take
care of the home and children. They would train up the children in the way they
SHOULD go so that when they were grown, they wouldn't depart from their training
up.
My, how far we have come away from God's original plan. Blame it on who you wil!
Many families today are in trouble and it's backing up on them. Only God can handle
the mess they got themselves in for not listening to HIS WORD. (Instruction Book).
Tell me this not the truth but I know it is!!!

Re: Paul And Women Teachers.
NO GODLY WOMAN would ever think of even wanting to rule over her husband...for the men that write here may I say it is a woman's nature to want to look up to her husband...
A woman may even be a natural born leader and out going but she will still look up to her husband if he is a godly man...

Sis. Alvear,
We are a team of almost 50 yrs. My eldest brother and wife celebrated
their 50th in Feb.09, ours will be July 11th, 2009, and the next brother
and wife, just younger than I, will celebrate their 50th next May 2010.
It is the grace and mercy of Almighty God that it has been so. We three
couples would all tell you IF it wasn't for the love and mercy of Almighty
God, none of us would have made it to 50 yrs. God is no respector of
persons. He does honour obedient faith and trust in HIM.
We are blessed when we OBEY! We are cursed when we disobey!! The
quickest road to repentance is the answer if we disobey.
Don't tell me it won't work when it is according to God's Plan. We are
living proof. All three of us and our spouses are serving the LORD in fulness
of truth. Our parents were married 52 yrs. when God took Dad home. Our
paternal grandparents were married until he died in 1955.
Hugs,
Falla39

What did Paul mean when he wrote he suffered not a woman to teach what was his motive, and reasoning for this ?

Paul was saying that he suffered when he had to hear a woman teach!

No wonder he suffered.
Maybe he should have let (allowed.permitted) the older women teach the younger women and the older men to teach the younger men. Evidently he
learned that later because he told young Timothy to do it that way!
Then he would not have had to suffer!! ![You are so funny!](http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com/images/smilies/ursofunny.gif)
