UMMMM, OK, my wording was a little twisted there, but you are so smart, not being from CA and all, you should have been able to figure that out... 
What I MEANT was, if you (generic "you" meaning Californians) were from CA, then everyone past Colorado is Southern to you (generic "you" meaning Californians). I didn't mean California was southern! DUH! 
Oh, and from all us idiots in CA, a big thanks!
