I think it was called a Gestetner?

Back to the original post - my house never gets about 70 degrees.
If you are chilly but don't want to turn the heat on, get an electric throw. They work great. Good prices at Sam's Club or Costco.

Or do what we've been doing--fire up the Fireplace!

Well thanks to menopause cold no longer an issues! In fact I love the cold weather and welcome it. We get into the lower 20's here. But as for summer, I can't handle anything over 76 these days!

Indeed, that does warm you up. As I recall they're no longer hot flashes, it's a power surge!

For AC we set the t-stat at 80.But if we aren't home it goes to 82.

For heat we set it 68 day and 62 night. Our t-stat is programmable and once it's set we ignore it. It goes to 62 when we leave for work. If I'm really warm I still keep one portable fan handy.
For the really cold nights the electric blanket saves the cold toes.

Re: How Low Do You Go........

We sleep with the temp set on 66 degrees year round. I like the temp during the day around 70 degrees. We have had the heat on a couple of time to get the chill out of the house. My husband would like it to be warmer, but I tell him to just get some more cover or snuggle close to me! He has been known to sleep with three blankets on his side of the bed.

Re: How Low Do You Go........

We've had a few days where our house dropped to the lower 50's at night, but having just moved to the Mesa, AZ area from Wisconsin, we are holding out on turning on our heat until at least the end of December.

(And it STILL gets warmer during the day. There are just huge swings in temperature.)

Re: How Low Do You Go........

I got a heater that looks like a radiator. It's great... It's safe! I put a towel over it so I have a toasty warm towel after a shower. I do the same thing with the heater. I like sleepy when it's super cold. I have been known to wear my coat around the house to avoid turning on the heat. I love love love cold weather! So glad it has cooled off after such a long hot summer!
