Yes, that would be the eqivalent of a way out there radical left Black leader, suddenly throwing his support behind a very conservative Black Republican candidate...that would be about race and race alone in my opinion.

I don't know. Lynn Rothschild threw her support to McCain. She said that Obama needs to answer some questions about his past associations. So, I don't see her as going after Palin just because of the woman issue. Some people are smarter than that.

Perhaps as a Hillary insider, it was a political move. I don't know for sure. But it does raise the question about Obama. I can take that.

Is there underlying racism here.

Do you really think being black is beneficial to any political figure when there are people like you voting?

You do John McCain a disservice when you imply things like this. It creates a racist, and I believe mostly false, impression of his supporters.
From the Washington Observer

Conservative black pastors nationwide are caught between irreconcilable opposites - congregations that overwhelmingly favor Sen. Barack Obama versus their personal doubts about the Illinois Democrat's politics, particularly on abortion.

"It's a theological contradiction, from the Christian perspective, to be excited about Obama," said the Rev. Levon Yuille, pastor of the 100-member Bible Church in Ypsilanti, Mich. "Very few black pastors have problems supporting Obama because they are fixated on this race thing."

"The congregations are pro-Obama. My congregation is saying Obama is the lesser of two evils," said Bishop Harry Jackson, pastor of Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, a 3,000-member majority black congregation.

"When I say that on third-term abortions, Obama has no conscience, they say [Sen. John] McCain and [Sen.] Hillary [Rodham Clinton] weren't great examples of morality either."

The Rev. John W. Stephenson, pastor of Heirs Covenant Church, a 300-member church in West Chester, Ohio, said he has to "educate" his members regularly.

"People say, 'This is an opportunity that will never come again for our people,' " he said. "I say, 'Yes, we are African-Americans, but we are also Christians."

Several pastors interviewed said they have had to work overtime to tutor their flocks about Mr. Obama's views, especially on abortion, which has disproportionately affected blacks. According to the Guttmacher Institute, a reproductive health research group, black abortion rates are three times that of whites and twice that of Hispanics.

As an Illinois state senator, Mr. Obama voted against the Illinois Born Alive Infants Protection Act, a bill that protected babies who survive abortions. Last year, the senator condemned the Supreme Court's ban on partial-birth abortion.

"Obama I am afraid of," said the Rev. Kim Daniels, pastor of the 400-member Spoken Word Ministries in inner-city Jacksonville, Fla. "I have a problem of people voting for him because he is black. Some of our African-American preachers are so excited to see someone who looks like them even though they are not getting someone who believes like them.

"But my life as a black person does not mean more than my life as a believer. I am voting for that baby that never gets to vote," she said.

Sounworthy, these same people have been voting Democrat anyway. I'm not convinced that the Black churches would be voting Republican but for Obama's color. In the grand scheme of things, I don't believe that Obama's race is a plus for him. If he were a White male candidate instead of a Black male with questionable ties to Wright et al, he would probably be running away with this election at this point. When a President has such a low approval rating, the opposition party normally has a huge advantage.

You may be right. I hope I'm wrong about Obama. I am willing to eat crow with or without the feathers.

I am not prejudiced as accused. Back when I was teaching in Christian Education I taught at an all black school. The school secretary referred to me as the only white kid on the block. I thought it an honor to be asked to teach there. In my present business we work with all cultures. When I am with one of our clients they are just people, not African American , Mexican, Filipino, Indian, Arab, just people. I tell the young people in my classes that whatever they are they need to proud of that because that is what God made them.

I don't think politics bring out the best in me, in fact I have threatened to quit AFF but it has become a habit.Guess I'm just kinda

I would not accuse you of being prejudiced, however, I do think that a lot can be learned from and about each other in open and honest communication. Very few things are simple black and white anymore. There are a lot of things that need to be looked into completely and openly if we are going to turn our country and our churches around.

Exactly - and be looked into on both sides with open minds so that somewhere down the road we just see people.......not colors.

If Obama's responsible for what? You aren't trying to indicate or suggest that Barack Obama had anything to do with Jerome Corsi being detained in Kenya are you?

How could you even think such a thing!!!You just crushed my feelings. How could an upright young So. Chicago man who always hung around with only the purest of citizen and attend a spirit filled conservative church even think of doing something like that even if one of his relatives did hold a government office in Kenya. Some of the things I get accused of by Apostolic Friends.
