Re: Republican Vice-Pres. Nominee is Pentecostal

I thought of something this morning, Obamination has been pining for change, change here, change this, change that...but then he selects a lifelong political bureaucrat as his running mate? Change? Since when is a Democrat making promises he will never be able to keep different from any other liberal diatribe?

Change.

We are on the right track folks, our future VP, the former Governor of Alaska has taken the wind out of the Obamination sails!

That she has and I still think it was probably at Mrs. McCain's suggestion!

She says she's not a Pentecostal.

Give ME A break. What has Obama ever run?
What executive experience has he had?
If Obama was a Republican YOU'D be screaming to high heaven, so you give us all a break with that.

The guy's never even run a candy shop, and you're complaining about Palin? Why are you making such a fuss over the lack of experience at the bottom of the Republican ticket, while the TOP of the Democratic ticket has comparable lack of experience?

No reason not to.

She was raised AG, and goes to an AG church when in Juneau, but her home church is an non-denominational church.

But... if she doesn't consider herself to be pentecostal, neither should we.

Thus, she has more executive experience than Obama.
December of 2006, but I guess technically she gets credit for the entire year.

In my opinion, this was a bad strategic move. It effectively takes away one of the strongest arguments against Obama. If the tables were turned and the GOP was trotting out a hot new candidate with little experience and they were taking a pounding in that area, I would say the same thing if the Democrats reciprocated by pulling in an even less experienced person for the Executive ticket. You just shoot yourself in the foot because in order to effectively defend it you basically have to argue exactly what the Dems have been arguing about Obama's experience and lack of DC immersion.

I think its a tradeoff, but can/will still be a net positive.
1... She'll energize the Republican base who wanted him to have a true conservative on the ticket.
2... She'll appeal to a lot of women democrats (not the hardline feminists of course), Hillary supporters, working class white democrats, etc. especially in certain key swing states like Ohio, PA, certain Midwestern states and rural area where Hillary was strong and Obama was not doing very well.

So even if they give up/lose the "experience" argument, I think they've calculated that they'll still have an tactical advantage with this pick.

Personally, I think it could turn out to be a brilliant move. And I think a lot of Democrats are nervous because of this pick, because they know she's gong to cut into certain demographic advantages they had before this.
