Thank Jesus that all the preachers I know or have known are still with happy families. I feel for you Baron, no wonder you are so angry. I'd be pretty upset too if I had your experience. My goodness you must of been tripping over the adulterers left and right. Sad.
If I had a bad experience with Chinese people I might have a problem with all Chinese people?
Excuse, me but just because you had one or two bad horses doesn't mean you stop riding.
On the other hand if you eat raw clams and you didn't like them, then that's just your taste, and there are others who may love them.
You had a very bad experience, and I had a very great experience, as far as I have seen and others around our country will back me up. The television preachers and Charismatic churches are a joke.
So where do you stand, do you no longer attend the UPCI?
|
Wrong again. I did not have a bad experience, none of those pastors where ones I sat under. I am third generation Pentecostal, and was UPCI until the pastor of the church I was assisting in left the UPCI. Since that time I have attended both UPCI and Independent churches depending on where I lived.
Your assertions that this only happens in "Charismatic" churches is just plain wrong, and that was my point in the previous post, Christians fall in the UPC in Charismatic churches it doesn't matter, they fall. I am glad you are not the one who gets to determine who is saved. Yes folks like you do make me angry, I find you self righteous and arrogant to think that you have it all and everyone else that seeks God is a fake. You really have no clue.

What? So was that a good thing? I didn't think you were sitting under those poor souls. You just said you saw MORE pastors go after women "and" men?

It does look like those churches have more mess happening in them. Sorry but America doesn't even know what a UPC is other than the bar code on their pakages. When they see the long list it has Cruzeematics on it.

Wait a minute, then why are you on a forum? There must be a lot of people available on this forum to mess up your Wheaties. You shouldn't take anything personal. If you lived in Fort Lauderdale and were in our Bible studies you would be swinging on my students. We have Rastas, Muslims, Atheists, and they are almost as much fun as I am.

Hold on Hoss, you have twisted this all over the place. Try this for a moment.
Lakeland Revival goes back years for us down here. We have seen all the dim witted chaos and the lives broken from that insanity. Let me help you out here. Lakeland Revival is NOT of God. Nothing personal to you, but you don't know what you are talking about concerning these individuals.

I am sure there have been a lot of problems from that, and I don't think the fiasco there was from God, but that doesn't mean God is incapable of taking something like that and using certain parts of it to bring glory to himself. (you meant it for evil...)
Have you been to Lakeland? Have you been to Brownsville?

If I wanna cool down I will turn on the AC but my Chinese food just arrived so I am going to eat and observe as I don't like sticky junk on my keyboard here at work.

Re: Thanks EB..Gotta Go
Bro. Benincasa, I agree with what you are saying. Hucksters rise yp anf fall like dandelions in the spring. They collapse under the own weight. In affect, they often destroy themselves. But... its always been that way, and, unfornately, it always will be that way. Remember Thedeus in Acts 5? And Judas of Galilee? They were the televangelists of their day and, like so many today, they came to naught. The reason the "shock value" of the TV preacher scandals has worn off, is because, unfortunately, every evangelical pastor, every evangelical preacher is suspect. That unfortunate, yet thats the way it is in the eyes of the world. You, as an evangelist, in the eyes of a cynical world, are nothing more than a Jim Bakker in waiting. Every tent preacher is nothing more than a fly by night con artist. Every pastor is a control freak whose one and only purpose in life is to bleed his congregants dry. Every person, whether thaey are Apostolic or Baptist who publicly utters the name "Jesus" is a religious wacko who'se just waiting for some guru to offer them some "special kook-aid". Thats the way the word sees us. Its wrong. Its unfortunate, but sadly, it is true. They said it of Jesus, they say it of us.
As long as there are gullible people who throw caution to the wind and give heed to seducing spirits... as long as there are silly women (Pauls words, not mine) to lead away...as long as there are people who get carried about by every wind of doctrine... there will be TB's and others like him.
All the while though, there will also be Peters and Pauls who concern themselves with preaching the true Gospel. There will always be Phebes and Priscillas who only concern themselves with being a witness of the Lord. How will the world know the difference between the Thedeus' and the Peters? By the words of Gamaliel: Act 5:39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. The dross is purged, the silver is purified. The chaff blows away, the seed remains.

Oh and EB if you can use Ozzie lyrics then my fortune cookie should qualify - It says of me "Your heart is pure, and your mind clear, and soul devout.
That proves it I am right the fortune cookie said so.

For the record, I think Monkeyman has the right idea too. I think it is time for me to find another forum where I don't feel like the minority. I have grown weary reading posts after posts where members side with charismatics and ministries that don't uphold Acts 2:38.

If you want us to get sticky sweet on here you're backing up, let us do what we are supposed to do. That is discuss the issues at hand and talk about "what is Truth?"
Some very cool relationships have been formed on this forum ever since the FCF, NFCF, days. We might get into it but we all can still remain in peace.

Have you ever been to one of these so-called " mainstream" churches?
Honestly EB, if I had to pick between your church and Sis Alvear's, based your posts here, I would have to go to hers. (I would also go to Sam's, MOW's, Rendas, Rhoni's, and even Stephen Hoover's... although I would only go to his for the cigars! And I would visit SoCalUpc's but only for a visit )

By your tone in your posts it looks like you were quick to bring up your experience with fallen UPCers. It justified your defense of the Charismatics.
Our whole discussion was about Todd Bentley, and the Charismatic goof balls that make up the weirdness that keeps good Americans going to Baptist and Catholic churches. You first jab was about those who were a part of your experience brushing their problems under the rug. You wanted to broad brush that dig and use the word "we". I let you know that wasn't my experience, but yours alone. You then wanted to let me know that more UPCer was committing adultery with not only females but with males, and they were doing that more than Charismatics.
This is what I have to say. Americans don't know what a United Pentecostal is or an Apostolic. The Charismatics flood the tube with the most outrageous garbage and therefore they are in the forefront of American eyes. People of this country were made aware that Benny Hinn is a crook and a liar, and watched the Jim and Tammy Faye saga go from bad to worse. Until Tammy died from a horrible bout with cancer.
Where are all the One God Pentecostals showing up in child porn? Where are all the One God Pentecostals splashed across the television in horrid scandals.
The number is far and few, and the Charismatics are piled by the door.

No, they just call them CHRISTIANS, that so everyone gets tossed in the pot with them every time they have a blow out. They don't have One God Jesus name Pentecostals in their eye view. The first time America placed their peepers on a woman wearing a long dress and uncut hair was a Fundementalist Mormon, when their compound was raided.

Sounds romantic, but the Apostle Paul and Peter went out of their way to warn the churches of false brethren. We don't see them being told not to worry about the false workers, that they would help the cause of Christ.
We are shown that these false workers would even hinder the new converts and send those who follow them to Hell.
2Pet 2:1
"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in DAMNABLE HERESIES, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction."
If the heresy is damnable it is able to ........ someone correct? Your logic is skewed through your own personal feelings. Lakeland has been a mess for years and you would advocate someone to go there a get prayer? Maybe that's why you are fighting so hard to defend this position. Because of your friend, you feel that you need to give some kind of legitimacy to his decision?
