No, forums didn't sway me, although many people wish they could blame it on that.
It's hard for some of my family to beleive that I changed my beliefs on my own with no influence from others.
Imagine that, I can think for myself!
But, seriously, this forum is nothing more than a tool, and if people are questioning things, they don't need a forum to change their minds - there are plenty of other opportunities.
These forums have made me reevaluate what I believe from Oneness to the New Birth. I thought I'd searched the scriptures and was rooted and grounded in the fundamentals of what I've held as truth before I joined a few forums 2years ago, but I did nothing like the searching I've done since discussing different views online.
I like the fact that the interaction here and other places has made me dig deeper into the word of God. It's made me pray more and seek God for truth. Examining what we believe is not a bad thing.
I wasn't insulting you when I asked you that question. I find your posts very articulate and thought out. It's clear you're an intelligent person and can think for yourself even if I disagree with you.

Michael, you are looking to justify.
Can you just state if there is validity in my post or not?
There is validity both ways Ron, that's my point.
However, no one stepper has ever said a three stepper was going to hell.
No advocates of cut hair have ever said advocates of uncut hair were going to hell.
There have never been any threads started on this forum that were entitled "All Oneness People are going to hell"
We can all discuss and debate, but you make it sound like the only ones who are attacked are the Conservatives, and I'll stand up and say that it works both ways, with much harsher consequences pronounced on the Libs every day of the week.

that isnt a fair compairison. people with bobed hair dont believe you can do much that will cause you to go to hell.
Man, I really hope this is TIC.

Just kidding.........despite opinions to the contrary, I do not dislike you, Mark - I agree or disagree with the posts, not the poster!

I would think the google and yahoo search results would be more offensive to them than this forum.
Type "United Pentecostal" in google and your #3, #4, #6, ad #7 results come up with websites calling it a cult.
Type in "UPCI" in google and your #7 search result is a anti-cult site.
type in "United Pentecostal Church International" in google and your #5, #6, and #7 search result are once again anti-cult sites with the denominations info in it.
but lets go to yahoo for the other 1/3rd of the internet usage
type in "United Pentecostal" and #7 and #10 are anti-cult sites
type in "United Pentecostal Church International" in yahoo and #10 is anti-cult.
I would imagine that this board has less effect on people finding reasons to question things than simply using Google and Yahoo in their daily search. Thats why our church simply sticks with the term "Apostolic" since its not so tainted and has less of a chance of blowing out new believers who are researching what they are getting into. Why should we pay for the bad teaching of others?
