Doesn't work around here. The local cult owns a couple stations and they are the same price as everyone else, or sometimes lower, but there aren't many who will buy from them, but they are still in business.
Understand that EVERY CITY and ALL PEOPLE would have to do the SAME THING to make it work. For instance, if people in one city quit buying from the Shell station, it's doubtful that the people who supply that station will lower their prices, considering that they supply gas to hundreds of stations in numerous cities.
What you are proposing is akin to trying to get the price of ribeyes to drop by buying them at the cheapest store you can find. The problem is, while the lowest price might be $7.79 a pound in one city, it's $10.99 a pound in another. Why would they lower the price?
