If this really did work, then why is deisel $4.50 and over $5 in places. Deisel is the first waste product that comes off of gas in the refining process. So keep in mind that the "trash" is more expensive than the finished product as I go on. In the trucking bisness the majority of trucking companies use only a few national chains of truckstops for their fuel. The big natioan chains are as follows, Flying J, Pilot, Loves, TA, Petro. Some of the trucking companies get special pricing at these stops. I tend to go to stops that give me at least a 5 cent discount, and also buy in states where fuel is less expensive. The most used chain is Pilot because they are the biggest. It is always a wait to even get to the deisel pumps. If your theory was right then there would be an under $1 fuel war with Pilot and Flying J taking the lead, but that's just not the case. Although those two chains offer the least expensive fuel, the fuel wars are forcing the price to continue to rise. That's the opposite effect of what you are looking for.

Joelel, they're not going to sell the gasoline for less than what it costs them. That is the fastest way to go bankrupt. Even if your idea would work, it still wouldn't because the lines would be so long that your car would burn more fuel idling, while waiting your turn, than you would save.

Now i have been watching the 76 gas station i get my gas and they up the price 6 times between deliveries so don't say they is making three cents a gallon, they are making it just like the big oil companies are.

Welcome to capitalism folks it ain't going to get any cheaper. so will ride my bike loose a few lbs and know i ain't spending any more than i have to on fuel and oil changes

The Gas companys regulate the prices at each station.If the station is not selling their gas they will come down on their price to the station.

Doesn't work around here. The local cult owns a couple stations and they are the same price as everyone else, or sometimes lower, but there aren't many who will buy from them, but they are still in business.

Understand that EVERY CITY and ALL PEOPLE would have to do the SAME THING to make it work. For instance, if people in one city quit buying from the Shell station, it's doubtful that the people who supply that station will lower their prices, considering that they supply gas to hundreds of stations in numerous cities.

What you are proposing is akin to trying to get the price of ribeyes to drop by buying them at the cheapest store you can find. The problem is, while the lowest price might be $7.79 a pound in one city, it's $10.99 a pound in another. Why would they lower the price?
