The HG is not a gift for everyone. It is only for those who have chosen to follow God's plan of salvation. When is the last time you met someone who had the HG that hadn't at least repented?

It's still not a gift for everyone, MOW. The unrepentant don't get the HG.

OK, Brother Mow... lemme get this straight...
The Bible lets us know that Jesus is coming back to receive His people unto Himself. ( John 14:3)
He that has not the Spirit is none of His. ( Rom 8:9)
But you believe that someone who does not have the Spirit will go to heaven anyway, even if they are "not His", according to scripture?
And...
The Bible lets us know that God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey him. ( Acts 5:32)
So obviously, if a person does not have the Spirit then [at least on some level] they have not obeyed Him.
But you believe they'll go to heaven anyway, even though they haven't obeyed the Lord?
And...
The Bible lets us know that the believers will be raised to eternal life by the Spirit that dwells in us. ( Rom 8:11) "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
But you believe that someone who dies without ever receiving the Spirit will be raised to eternal life in Christ anyway?
Umm.... ok, sir.

Your paradigm of the scriptures (which I used to hold) states that one CANNOT have the Holy Spirit without speaking in tongues. I understand that perfectly. That really is the "rub." That paradigm alone gives much difficulty. But, once again, the ultimate conclusion of that paradigm is that the vast majority of ALL Christians are going to hell.

There's something you're missing here.
Tongues aside... You stated that a person wont go to hell for not receiving the gift of they Holy Ghost --which implies that you dont need the Holy Ghost to get to heaven.
Either you have the Holy Ghost, or you don't.
Or are you implying (as some 1-steppers assert) that even someone who has never received the gift, still has the Spirit in some measure? If so, please feel free to provide scripture references. Thanks.

I don't believe you need the baptism in the HG to get to heaven. I DO believe that a person receives a measure of the spirit at conversion. Either they do, or they are going to hell in spite of their conversion. There's that paradigm thing again. D:

Re: What is a One Stepper?!
So what happens with the person that has repented, maybe been baptised maybe not, and has not yet received the Holy Ghost but some how he has been killed in a crash. Say he repented at church and the plan is to baptise him the next service, he hasn't gotten the HG yet leaves church and is hit head on and dies. DOES he go to hell? according to the one steppers, NO. I have to agree with them on that I do not think they go to hell. According to the Bible you have to be born of water and of spirit to not only enter but to even see the kingdom of heaven. I can see that to so just maybe he isn't going to heaven. What happens to him? does he go to purgatory like the Catholics teach? Lets have some of you weight in on it.

Brother, it would be nice if people wouldn't base so much of their doctrinal beliefs on what they feel. I have feelings on certain issues too, but if those feelings don't line up with the Bible, then my feelings are leading me in a doctrinally wrong direction.
