Quite a confession. (but I would try them too!)

I just roasted tonights beans, and enough for two pots of java tomorrow.

I case you are wondering... I am having fun with this!

I am very happy (as is my wife) with the results.

The down sides

1. a wee bit messy

2. this is a cheap roaster and does not have:

a) A viewing glass to watch the progress

b) A large hopper... enough beans to brew 1.5 pots

c) variable temperature control

I think I feel led to invest a little more for higher quality roaster.

I pretty much only drink dark roast myself.

Re: The Need, the Bean and the Cup

I prefer dark also... We tried a light roast from Caribou Coffee last week and I really did not care for it.... I really like a French Roast and Espresso... We have one here that is called Obsidian and it's great..... I like to add a touch of cinnamon to my coffee grounds right before I brew them.... Adds a nice touch!

We could really get into roasting our own... One thing my husband and I have always wanted was to own our own cafe.... That would the totally awesome!
