I agree that it's more percsecution than racism, but it's still nothing compared to anything she's ever experienced personally in this country. This country is still great, even for minorities. That's why they are still coming here!!
And as long as people of a minority group feel that they will never rise above 'the white man' (their words), they never will. They give white men power by making those statements.
There are lots of blacks and other minorities in positions of power. Those people get respect not because of their color, but because of the position they hold.
I am in a position of power at my job. There are a lot of American Indians that work there and I'm over several of them. I'm not over them because they are Indian and they don't respect me because I'm white.
When we start seeing each other as members of the human race and not the black or white race, we might get somewhere in this world.
