I respectfully and gently disagree that any pastor should drive a luxury vehicle or that they should live in luxury. Perhaps I'm a quack and a fringe weirdo (I'm usually called a liberal which is ironic) but I think the church should be counter cultural in our materialistic/consumeristic/hedonistic culture and the pastors should be leading in this area not capitulating to it by riding around in the symbols of materialistic status.
Sorta like the older idea that a person is "in the world but not of it"?

Is it just me that it seems wry that a guy name Cooper would like big trucks?
I got in one of those little Coopers once and my wife still hasn't stopped laughing. She said she couldn't tell if I was in the car or wearing the car. haha.
funny!
I have secretly wondered if my daughters would one day go out and get either the VW water-cooled bug or a mini-cooper and then leave it with me for a weekend to bop around town with. So far, no luck, but I have a future daughter-in-law that may yet provide my chance!
Some vehicles just have inescapable gender overtones, but still, if I ever needed to drive through a storm sewer, the mini-coop would be my first-choice preference (there's a bunch of Bavarian Motor Works in the little rascal).

LOL. I think I could get in the thing. I'm just not so sure I could get OUT! hahaha.

As a pastor I have always believed that I should not drive a car any greater than the average car of my members, and that I should not live in a home any greater than the average members I pastor. This is just my opinion, I know many men who believe that the ministry should live "very" well as an example of what can happen if you serve the Lord. However, in our cynical world I never want to give reason for someone to say "look at that preacher getting rich off of his members."
Very good wisdom in this post Bishop. If the apstle Paul were alive today, judging from his writings I'd think he'd be driving a used Toyota Corolla.
