So they are slow to adopt any new ideas.

Thus many times they miss the opportunity.

My suggestion be proactive as you do in business.

For once in 100 years be ahead of the competition.

Anyone can duplicate what someone else has already tried.
Any large organization finds it difficult to be nimble.
Plus, any change must come not from the GB but from the floor of the General Conference. Democracy in an organization the size of the UPCI makes it impossible to ram change through.

The 2k is an interesting stat - where did you come up with it from?
If there is 6000 ministers today.

I know that at a minimum there has been a 30% turn over.

Not saying they all left because of the issue of standards.

But they left....

That also is taking into account the organization licensed almost every song leader into the organization in the 1990's to keep the roles up.

We had 10 licensed ministers in our Church.

Maybe 3 of them preached in a given year.

My Dad sat during the open floor at the General Conference in the 1970's.

He passed away in 1978.

He knew many men who wanted to stand and offer solutions.

To the names many believe are the CONS in the organization still today.

They were kept silent by the fear of not having a place to preach and money to feed their families.

It is not a democracy on any terms.

I would think something like TV and 33 years is much slower than a ram through.

It only takes the swing of one arm to slam a door.

Changing things today would by like nailing things to a door in the 1500..

Where did that get Martin Luther.
Idiotic post alert!!!!

Neckstadt, I laugh more at the ridiculousness of your posts than anyone else on any Forum I am a part of. 2000 members left???? LOL!

Sounds good, but it just ain't true.

Reckon they ever heard of "having faith in God for doing the right thing?"

I would like to know something.

If you were given 10 minutes to speak to the entire general board of the United Pentecostal Church what would you say? What would you ask. What are the issues you would like to discuss?
Hey Carp.......
  • I would first of all express thankfulness, respect, and blessing for the almost 25 years we spent in ministry within the UPC and for the years I spent as a child and teen pastored by UPC pastors.

  • I would thank them for giving us the wonderful privilege and honour of being appointed as missionaries to HK and China.

  • I would thank them for their confidence and trust demonstrated by granting us license and then full missionary appointment along with other leadership positions which denoted trust and respect and appreciation for our ministry.

  • I would thank them for the opportunity of having met some of the most wonderful men and women of God who had such an impact on my life.

  • I would thank them for all that I absorbed and learned through watching and listening over the years that has held me in good stead to this day.

  • Then....... after that I might make a plea for an overturning of the AS ..... "the infernal document" as Ferd calls it. I'm sure my pleading and request would have great impact on them.

  • And then ..... finally ..... I would ask they lay hands on us and pray for us that God would increase His anointing and favour on our lives.

The ministerial roll of the UPCI has slowly but steadily increased over the last two decades. The number of churches has remained static.

We have over 9000 licensed ministers, and around 4800 North American churches. Many of those churches are not affiliated.

I sure hope Neckstadt reads this. The man has got to get better stats if we are going to take him seriously. And quit living vicariously in the 70's.
