This may sound strange but if the Lord has not given me anything I just tell our people I don't feel anything from the Lord...I hate services where people go on and on and say nothing,

I agree with MM (of course we are from the same church) I believe that the gifts follow the believer. My own belief is that for ME, if I am praying for a man I will put my hand on a shoulder or back. But that's just me..

Ahhhhhhhhhhh yes.... sounds like Church at 'our place'! Had an incredible service tonight. Unbelievable what God did in that one single service. Tried to dismiss and the Gifts of the Spirit fell, drove us to an altar and the congregation prayed over 2 hours from that point. Probably had less than 5 in our entire congregation leave early.

We got out a little after 11 PM... and had to tell the people to 'go home' even at that point!

One of my main convictions is... well, you guessed it...UNITY in the Body of Christ. Some call it "a sacred cow" or even a "pet peeve", but to me, it is a conviction. I don't have alot of tolerance for people who "strain at gnats" to find some reason not to fellowship a brother or sister in the Lord. Don't care for those who hear or read a sermon and agree with 99% of it, yet... because of that 1% they disagree with, they withold or break fellowship. The Pentecostal Movement has been diverse since it began at Pentecost. And, it is in spite of... no...because of, that diversity, it has spread around the world. But, the efforts to strip the movement of its diversity has caused it to split in every direction. The move to make everyone see everything exactly alike, to agree on EVERYTHING has never suceeded, and never will. The human and political machine we call denominationalism has resulted only in a repeat of the Tower of Babel fiasco. Unity comes from the Holy Ghost and until we learn that Jesus is the ONLY Head of His Church, we will continue to drift further and further away from truth. We have a mandate from God to KEEP the unity of the Spirit in the bonds of peace and, He has made us ONE in Him... and that is paramount to our survival as the People of the Living God. We should remember this... there is no tribulation or distress, no persecution or famine, no sword or peril that can separate from the love that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. Rom 8:35

I think I'll stick with the convictions the word or the Holy Ghost gives me.I think I'll keep the beams out of my eye so I can see to get the mote out of my brothers eye.

Math.7:1: Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2: For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3: And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4: Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5: Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

yes, there is definitely a difference in where i grew up. Me personally, and i know I am out numbered here by far, I do not like for women to pray for men. For me, it is a huge distraction for someone of the opposite sex to put their hands on anyone in prayer. Of course I do see a difference when a minister is praying for the saints, and so on. I have no problem with women praying for other women and men praying for other men. I think a man touching ME on the back will get him a good slap! There is a way to pray for people! I don't have a problem with people praying for eachother. It is when saints lay their hands on other people's HEADS. !

Another conviction for me: Getting on the platform without prayer. I can't do it. I have pray before service and especially before I get on the platform to sing or play the keyboards. If I haven't prayed, I don't feel comfy up there. I need to be sensitive to God and make sure that I am in tune with what He wants to do in the service....
