This is not a dumb reason but I figured I would post anyhow. I know several that have left the church because they have been called out over the pulpit during the service. This has happened on several occasions. Talk about an akward feeling in the service. I felt that this was shameful and degrading for the pastor to do.

I know all the "sister Bertha Better-than-you's" sitting in their amen pews LOVE to watch the people squirm (with sadistic glee) knowing that THEY don't have one (a TV).

And if he was wrong possible lawsuit for slander?
I'd leave too.

The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Wasn't it Tulsa where the lady successfully sued the church and pastor for spreading the word, falsely, that she was a lesbian? She was called out from the pulpit with a "revelation" saying as much. She did end up settling but the amount was hushed.

I think it was in OK, not sure where but yes.
These guys need to be careful. I know of a lady that a pastor said she had a devil...and of course they never cast the devil out and she left very distraught and never returned

RandyWayne, yes it was in OK, in the Tulsa area. The pastor had solid evidence of his accusation. However, he destroyed it because he was so horrified. Then he tried to deal with the situation. He was a good man, who should have consulted some other pastors for advice.
I think that he was so surprised and shocked that he dealt with this on an emotional level, rather than a pastoral level.
I went to an ALJC church in the Cincinnati, OH area for several years in the nineteen sixties and seventies. For several years I taught teenagers in Sunday School. I preached in youth meetings and at times filled in for the pastor on Sunday mornings and evenings and in the Thursday night Bible study. I was licensed by the ALJC and served as sectional youth leader.
One Sunday night our pastor said in his sermon from the pulpit, "The Bible says that a man is supposed to be clean shaven." I spoke up and said, "I'd like to know where that is in the Bible." The pastor either did not hear me or chose to ignore the remark. My wife grabbed my arm and gave me "that look" (husbands and children know what "that look" is). We never went back there. I thought what are we doing here? What are we becoming? For some time we did not go to any church but I was active in a couple of Bible Study groups. Since then I have gone to a Vineyard Church for over ten years and the last couple years to a church called the Hamilton Dream Center. I don't regret leaving organized Oneness Pentecost. Doctrinally I am a "one-stepper" so I can fit in in what is called (derisively by some) "a trinity church."

What's a good, practical way of being "careful" when you get a revelation from God? What are you supposed to do when God orders you to kick someone in the face or the stomach? (Todd Bentley obeys!) If God tells you someone is a lesbian, mustn't it be true, even if the lady won't admit it?
What should you do if God tells you to kill your child?
