Well, 25% of the population is not merely predisposed to being addicted to alcohol, they are just predisposed to addiction period due to being without God.
Also, it is not I that give license to alcohol consumption....it is the word of God.

Hello MOW, good to see you back on board. I don't think anyone is "advocating" the consumption of alcohol. Its not that anyone is Lobbying for alcohol or giving license for its consumption. Its just that, from a strickly biblical veiwpoint, there is no prohibition against moderate wine consumption. We are to abide by our personal convictions in this or any other matter while, at the same time, refrain from condemning those who do not share our convictions. To explain: My brother is a recovering alcoholic. He CANNOT drink, at all. He drinks to get drunk. To him, drinking is something he cannot do. I, on the other hand, have never been a drinker. So, drinking is not a problem for me at all.
I find no biblical authority to forbid the moderate use of alcohol. However, due to my Pentecostal upbringing, I would feel convicted to walk into a liquor store to purchase alcohol. I represent Christ to the world and I just can't see the Lord walking out of a package store with a bottle no matter what its intended use is. If I were trying to win an alcoholic to the Lord and he were to see me with a bottle, what kind of message am I sending? So, in short, my personal conviction is this: I can drink it, I just can't go buy it!
My old motto goes here:
"Just because I can do something, that doesn't mean I should."

That is a very good point my friend, had not considered it in that light before, we certainly are responsible to be temperate in all things.
