I'm not sure that you can prove racial profiling, but I think they can argue some sort of profile. Who was the "they" that always get away and how did he reach that conclusion concerning this boy who was just returning to a place that he belonged? That's not a rhetorical question. I wonder what his answer would be.

That muttered phrase was a pretty weak component to begin with. (As was pointed out much earlier in this thread.) However, what makes ME think he was profiling was the fact that he saw a young black male in a hoodie and thought he was up to no good--even though the kid was merely walking down the street. What did he base that on? The boy's apparent age? The hoodie? The cell phone? The color of his skin? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that he profiled this kid in *some* way.
I'm not sure they'll be able to concretely pin hate crime onto Zimmerman. (Unlike the recent Tulsa shootings which were obviously racially motivated.) Whether it's a hate crime or not has no bearing upon whether Zimmerman is guilty of murder.
This whole thing reminds me of an incident that happened while I was working nights at a grocery store a few years ago. We had some of the most idiotic security guards in the WORLD. Anyway, we had a guy who worked at the Tulsa World who would come into the store in the wee hours of the morning and grab a snack and sometimes he would eat chips or whatever he had grabbed as he was walking around the store. (And then we would just scan the empty containers) No big deal. Well, Officer Stupid spotted him one night and followed him ALL OVER THE STORE, basically accused him of stealing food and let me tell you, by the time that guy got to the counter, he was LIVID. He was yelling at the security guard that he was going to call Mr. Reasor the next day, that they were personal friends, etc. Hey, I understood, because the security guy completely overreacted. Honestly, I think if the security guy had had the power to arrest him, he would have. He was that upset about the guy munching on a bag of chips. He even followed him out of the store after he had already paid. Anyway, apparently there was a phone call made, because that security guard never came back.
My point is that some people are stupid and over-zealous, and if they have power it makes them even MORE stupid. A man who would follow a 17 year old with a gun when he is committing no crime because he *looks* suspicious as he walks down the sidewalk is stupid. He's over-zealous. He's an aggressor. And without a weapon, he likely wouldn't have had the bravado to make a move and Trayvon would have made it home that night. Our security guard felt powerful in his uniform, even though the only weapon he had was some stick. Zimmerman reminds me of that over-zealous, narcissistic security guard type who thinks he has more authority than he really does. A neighborhood watch leader has NO authority at all over local citizens. NONE. He has the directive to watch the neighborhood and call the police if there's a problem. And if that's all Zimmerman had done, no one would be complaining right now. Obviously, Zimmerman stepped way over those boundaries. And frankly, unless it can be proven that Trayvon actually attacked him (as opposed to defending HIMself), he has no case at all and should be convicted of murder. Even if Trayvon attacked him, it could be argued that he was still the aggressor, but I think most people would be a little more understanding. If he initiated the altercation in any way, though, he's at fault. Period.

Rosen was betraying the obvious fact that Democrats, liberals and lesbians such as she have disdain for women who are traditional and conservative. And Ann and her "wealth" have nothing to do with whether she has a legitimate knowledge of what women deal with on a day to day basis. She and her husband were not granted any inheritance from his father and had to build their wealthn from the ground up. How did Hillary Clinton get a pass? She came from privilege. How did Teresa Heinz Kerry get a pass? She came from privilege.
Democrats are hypocrites on women's issues.
