I don't doubt Monkeyman! I've already said that I agree with his assessment, to a degree.

This forum is MERELY a medium, and the things that are read here can also be read in other places - this forum just makes those things more accessible.

My point is that I believe that anyone who changed their views over what they read here would have changed them eventually.

Can I prove that? No. Can anyone else prove that they wouldn't? Nope.

So, we're at a stalemate.

Let's face it! We ALL take our religious beliefs seriously. It can be hard not to take it personal when someone attacks your belief system.

To be honest though, it doesn't bother me when my faith beliefs are attacked. This is because I'm confident that my paths are ordered by God.

I don't have a problem changing my mind if a belief that I hold dear is challenged and found wanting. If it can't stand scrutiny, it's not solid doctrine.

Wow, I have missed a lot of pages of interesting posts by being in Africa doing the work of God. LOL!

I sure don't have time to catch up, but I just want to say that if someone's belief system changes because of what they read on an internet forum, then they didn't have a solid foundation at all, or God was already working on them in some areas. I have argued stuff for four years or so on here and other forums, but I am firm in what I believe so I still believe the same!

The only thing that I have become more aware of on these boards is the un-Christlike attitude that some people have when defending their positions, and that's on the lib side as well as the con. Sometimes I'm amazed at the spirits that come across on here.

Here's the REAL reason many of the cons have left:

WWOD!

He was their heavyweight champ! He was like DA for the cons point of view, but maybe even a little smarter. He was leader of their posse. He would ride into town and blow everything to smithereens. He typed so fast that he would have five long detailed posts before you could respond to the first one!

The cons loved being around to witness the carnage, and rally behind their man.

After he was permanently banned, the cons started leaving the forum a little at a time, until the mass exodus a few months ago.

Why? They didn't mind digging in the garbage bin for a piece of cake when WWOD was around! In fact, they enjoyed watching WWOD jump in the garbage bin, setting it on fire, and walking out carrying the piece of cake!

WWOD was a heavyweight, and his loss was more than they could handle.

Apostolic discussion boards are a really small pond.
100’s of active posters.
A couple of thousand random lurker/readers.
....in a giant sea of Hundreds of millions of Americans
....or in an ocean of Billions of world citizens.

The style of engagement and highly specific content references, inherently demand an informed background to discern the sound of this community. You don’t come to these waters uninformed and leave informed. At best, you discover the most likely label that humanistic wisdom would apply to your dogma or philosophical views….YEAH; that and $4.00 will get you a Venti, chai soy latte, [extra hot] at Starbucks.

Evoking conservative verse liberal is a loud proclamation that we are babes in Christ; some say they are of DA, others WWOD, some are preterists, others say, I am a futurist.

Religious-themed discussion boards are primarily a caucus; develop your loose constituency into a more like-minded, uniform sound. AFF was likely less and less a place where that was consistently happening for one caucus, so they re-deployed limited resources to explore other endeavors elsewhere.

Hey, if this place works for you, great. But anybody who wants to play in online discussion board sandboxes is well aware that a majority of stuff that happens there is human stuff…most of which results in a nasty rash where your undergarments contact your body.

I got this Email from BOOMM Last Night About THIS THREAD


I was sent your post and it was dead on.

Too hard to keep answering questions on WHY we were on AFF than simply don't go back.

Now I am told Renda even blesses blasting - something always spoken against. Seems only the Pastor and a Conservative at heart at open territory.

One person said they post many times, delete it and realize it was not worth even typing in the first place.



I don't miss it at all. Since I paid most of the hosting this year, I should have removed it.
