Updated at 1:15 p.m. ET: Trayvon Martin's mother retracted her comments that she believes her son's fatal shooting by George Zimmerman was an accident, telling MSNBC-TV on Thursday afternoon that she actually believes "George Zimmerman stalked my son and murdered him in cold blood."

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE
I am SO GLAD that the media did expose this case, that the Martin Family did not give up and that zim was finally arrested.
Do you all realize that this case would not have been national news had the Sanford PD just arrested this guy in the first place? Or if the Martin family just accepted that their son was the cause of his own death that night he went to the store to get iced tea and skittles?
How is it the case can go from "Ok, you killed him in self defense? You can go home," to 2nd Degree Murder? The facts haven't changed. The Prosecution presented the facts and a Judge agreed that there is probable cause to believe that 2nd Degree Murder took place.
This does nothing for the reputation of the Sanford PD or the District Attorney's office over in Seminole County.
Angela Corey presented the facts, Charged zim with 2nd Degree Murder and a Judge agreed that there was "Probable Cause" for such a charge and now a guy who took a kid's life is behind bars. Finally!
I am glad!

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — When Casey Anthony stood trial last summer in her toddler's death, Mark O'Mara became a familiar face on local television making daily critiques of prosecutors and defense attorneys in the world-famous case.
Legal experts will now train their sights on O'Mara, who faces the parsing of his every move by a hungry public now that he is defending the neighborhood watch volunteer charged with killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
O'Mara took on the job Wednesday, the day that a special prosecutor filed a second-degree murder charge against George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer who says he shot the unarmed teen in self-defense.

George Zimmerman is cooling his heals in jail, where he recently purchased a collection of items from the Seminole County jail store to help pass the time.
The Miami Herald recently tweeted a photo of a receipt from Zimmerman's $79.84 purchases that included playing cards, puzzle books, and Jolly Rancher candy.

No, no. Look at the video clips from 2/26/12 and look at his pic today. He has lost a serious amount of weight.
It could be anxiety or it could be a strategy. A scrawny zim looks defenseless against a 6"2, 17 year old football player. It may mean the difference between his freedom and his incarceration.
"Surely this soft spoken, mild-mannered, small-framed little man who has done so many good things in his community wouldn't be guilty of murdering a 17 year old kid, unless he had to do it?"

"Yeah, zim is being railroaded in this case! Look at him, he's just your everyday guy caught in the middle of some terrible circumstances. He said he's sorry already. They should just let him go. I feel bad for the parents, but why should zim suffer, he was just defending himself."
hogwash

Nice of you to be happy, even though he aint convicted , i know you think he is guilty and nothing will change your mind,no matter the real evidence, dont be shocked if a jury never sees this. This is a grandstand move on the prosecutors part.

I got that impression to.
Did you watch the actual news conference? She seemed a bit smug and a little gleeful even at a couple of spots.
I don't think 2nd Degree Murder will fly.
I used to think Manslaughter would not fly, but it would have been a bit easier to comprehend and convince a Manslaughter charge-- unless the Prosecution has some solid evidence that has not been made public yet.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE
Seriously, I am just glad the kid killer was at a bare minimum arrested.
He killed a kid. He was a big kid, but at the end of the day, he was still a kid.
