Re: Effective evangelists?
Indeed guys, other versions can lead folks to salvation. Keep in mind, the general body of Christ only had fragments of the Bible in the 1st century to read.
Well, God still saved them with what they had.
My point is AFTER salvation....
Do we keep toting our New World Translations, etc. to church?
I just choose to deal with the false translation issue before they are born(again)....receiving the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost weaning them up on the INSPIRED Bible right away.
I have never, ever had a problem getting folks to use the KJV instead.
Maybe you guys are too wishy washy when dealing with souls, and they run YOUR teaching groups....LOL

Thank you Mr Jim Jones for sharing.

Sean, this one comment was worth the whole thread, so if the NIV holder can get to heaven, then we should all Praise Jesus! If they decide to move on to another contemporary English translation not missing verses then Praise the Lord in Jesus name. The point is this, that the Elizabethan English isn't spoken in heaven.

Re: Effective evangelists?
Yes Benincasa , "fragments" of truth can get you into the water. I guess these same "fragments" are what they can read the rest of their life(missing key words and scriptures)?
Shall we wait until they have been in church 10 years before we "carefully and gingerly" approach them about these problematic translations?
Maybe AFTER they have joined the ministry and have set out to change the ministry themselves to support ALL versions?

Sean, that isn't what we are talking about. Sean, you believe that only one version is INSPIRED that is the Shakespearean English KJV deuterocanonical books and all. But that isn't the truth. While you pound the pulpit demanding that all your people learn 17th century English they might be better suited to read a more contemporary version of the "Textus Receptus."

Alright, yes, you are correct. Being raised Catholic, also being around staunch Sedevacantists when I was young, when I meet up with them and help them come into the Apostolic faith, I use their Bible. Even Jay Hove Witnesses, I use their Bibles when we bring them in for conversion. With Haitians, Spanish, we let them use their Bibles, because they get understanding faster. The Catholic gets faster understanding because that was the Bible he or she has been using while they were seeking God in the RCC.

I thought you knew I was from Louisiana.
But, yes... I completely believe that you were able to lead them into salvation by showing them the truth in their Bibles instead of dictating to them what they could and couldn't use.

That's when you blast the sister for using the NIV, and her 305 lb husband puts down his KJV, and squeezes your neck until you apologize to his wife. Sean, you have all the earmarks of a unyielding cult leader.
