Anyway, the overall picture of Genesis shows a pattern.
Adam and Eve sin and fall, and man goes further into sin and Cain is separated from them. Chapter 6 shows the families of Seth and Cain converge as "men began to multiply across the face of the earth."
The sons of God, Sethites, backslide further and join Cain's backslidden heritage, until all mankind is sinful, except Noah.
The flood comes.
God starts anew.
Man splits off again and decides to make his own name great, which alludes to Eve's temptation to be like God - self-exaltation. Man seeks to build his own city, like Cain did after his departure.
Meanwhile, God calls Abram and says He'll make Abram's name great, and God will build him a city.
Contrasts and opposites.
Throwing in angels and humans having sex together is just stupid.
