Alagoas is very poor, as you immediately discover from the potholes in the roads and its rickety local buses. Thousands of Alagoanos leave every year to look for work as far afield as Rio, São Paulo and Amazonia, giving Alagoas the highest emigration rate of any state in Brazil.

Amazing really, the poverty in this world. And you live so close to it...I'm thankful that you are there, Sis. Alvear to show these people Jesus, to bring hope to them. Sis. Freeman has always said that the reason we do not have the great revivals like they do on foreign soil, is because we are to affluent and do not trust God for our needs.

People in the states when I post some beautiful pictures can never imagine the contrast in the place where I live...I am going to post pictures today of the street where we live.
This morning early a van load of my SS kids went to another village to spend the day handing out tracts and having a afternoon service. Chad our son in law took them for me. So glad to see these young people so stirred to help the lost.
