In fact, no Republican is a "market anarchist." But the Democratic Party has been held under the control of its most extreme elements since at least the 1960's.

Going back to FDR days, the Administrator of FDR's WPA had a portrait of Stalin in his Washington office. Stalin was very much admired by the "Wise Men" of FDR's time. men like John Kenneth Galbraith, Averell Harriman, Dean Acheson and their ilk.

These were the men who created the "American Empire" mythos and urshered in most of the problems of the 20th century.

Bumping... Pelathais is in bolded text.

No, we will have to encourage the rest of the world to stop coddling terrorists however. Iraq has always been a basket case. Sadaam had to kill millions of his people just to maintain that status quo. We got sick of the carnage and did something about it. That whole part of the world has been a nightmare for 5,000 years.

Isn't it time that somebody somewhere dreamed of a better world? You've got a lot of dreams and hope that big government will fix your every goiter and hang nail. Why not expect a government to also do what it's supposed to do and defend the innocent from murderous thugs?

Last week in Damascus, after a party celebrating the 29th anniversary of Khomeini’s Iranian revolution, some unknown government "official" accomplished a lot of good with a little C4 and a cell phone. Now that's how I'd like to see my government at work.

Can you document this? Sounds like propaganda.

That's right. The US government is paying US corporations to relocate overseas. In fact, I'm thinking of forming several corporations in Nevada next week just to take advantage of the huge windfall opportunity!

Chris, after you have taken someone else's money away from them, at what point do you stop yourself and say, "This is a 'fair' amount to take?"

I picture you and your Union thug buddies cornering the other kids in the bathroom at school. You go through their pockets and take their lunch money. When the kids start to complain or cry a little bit, you just slap them across the face and tell them that you're only taking "what's fair."

No, that's tyranny. And just like the school bullies, some day the other kids are going to stand up to you and your Union thugs.

"That's my lunch money! My mom gave it to me because she wants me to grow up and be strong!" And then you and the rest of the bullies will go running out of the bathroom crying about how 'unfair' it is when the little guys stand up to you.

This scarcely has any bearing on recent points. It's true that our liberal capitalist society has become increasingly collectivized. However, I am philosophically against the majority of those changes, and would reverse them if I had the power. The residual effects and unintended consequences of these social programs have all been laid out and show that most of such programs aren't just failures, but are culturally and societally destructive. All this social engineering has engineered is a dependency mindset. I recommend that you do a little reading in the "enemy camp" and try to keep an open mind. And by "enemy camp," I don't mean RNC talking points. I'm talking about limited government conservatism and studies of the individual liberty guaranteed in the constitution.

By the way, I support not only municpal fire and police, but trash collection, recycling, parks, water and gas works. So do I get any socialist brownie points for that?

Your words only go to show us that you don't know what socialism is. . . .
You guys are the most venomous brothers I've ever talked to. You've proven one thing to me...those who champion capitalism are some of the meanest people on earth, even to their "brothers" who may disagree with them.
You'll notice that I've changed my title to reflect your assessment of me. Sometimes I wonder how many others feel the same about me, but then I think, hey, that kid dropped his sandwich . . . LUNCH!

But seriously, Chris, I have no animosity toward you whatsoever and any jabs I may have taken have been in the spirit of fun. I certainly hope you feel the same way . . .

And lastly, Chris, I double-dog dare you to start a poll asking AFF members to opine on whether I'm informed or ignorant, dim-witted or intelligent, open-minded or defiantly stubborn, and heartless or helpful. You have my permission.
Put your money where your mouth is! It might even be fun!

Huck's still playing ball and there are a lot of guys like Bill Frist with national recognition who could emerge if McCain fails to unify a large enough faction behind him.

It can still be interesting.
