If you decide to let the baby cry do just that, otherwise he will know that the longer and louder he cries you will come get him. I don't mean don't check his diaper and see if he is ok. I wasn't able to let my children cry themselves to sleep until about my 4th child came along, and 6 of them have slept through the night from about three months on (I mean for about 6 or 7 hours). I had one that slept 9 hours his first night (and every night there after, with the exception of a few). I have 7 children and now I probably have more sleepless nights then when I did when they were babies. I will have one come in at 12pm and need help using the bathroom, I will have another one come in around 2am need help getting water, and then maybe a bad dream around 3am. That can make it hard getting up in the morning. These nights are few, though. My 14 month old will wake up in the night and I will give him some water and he will go right back to sleep.
My first one slept with me until she was 3 months old, my husband was gone on a military assignment. She would sleep for 8 hours every night. I loved this. When she was three months I took one of my t-shirts that I had worn and put it in her crib. When I would feed her she would fall asleep and I would put her in the crib and she would sleep through the night.
Exactly what was the grand total of children here, 6? Sis., I was exhausted just after reading this post!!
Not only did I have him on a schedule, I fed him food full of nutrients. I couldn't do this with the others because I wasn't sure that they were getting all they needed. We lived in Germany at the time and I had a lot of support eating well. After my 3rd child I was able to lose all the extra weight and more just in changing my eating habits. When we came back to the states it was very difficult to keep those eating habits. Over there healthy food is readily available, over here you have to go out of your way to find it and pay more for it.
I hear ya on the health food!
The more speeches that are given about the overweight country we live in, the more commercials I see about eating junk!

No, it isn't a good answer. God doesn't jump when we say jump. As long as your son has been fed, has a clean diaper, isn't too cold or too hot, then I wouldn't worry about the crying too much. Stop worrying about being a bad parent too. You are going to mess him up no matter how hard you try not to!!
Yes this could be an ear infection.
But please don't put the baby in bed with you ,cause they get habited to that and you'll regret it.
We let all of our children sleep with us the first few months and it never caused any problems. They had until they started pulling my chest hair to sleep with mommy and daddy. Then it was to the crib!!
God bless you Sister! Thank you for sharing this, although I will have to admit that 1 or at the most 2 will do for me. LOL! Thank you for the heartfelt encouragment, I bet you're a good mom!
The Bible says a quiver full, so you had better get to it!!!
