Yeah, for the most part. But I would have to say it takes more than that though.
Some believe in
Acts 2:38 but have no problem with a Trinitarian being invited to preach to a bunch of Apostolics. Others, myself included, find that abhorrent.
I mean, really, some so-called
Acts 2:38 believers even believe in homosexual unions. I dont consider these people my doctrinal peers by any means, even if they say they believe in
Acts 2:38 and the Oneness of God.
Obviously there's always going to be some doctrinal diversity on some issues.. .beards, pants, tv, etc.. But some things are just over the line. I'm moderately conservative myself, but even I have had my mouth fall open sometimes, at seeing the views expressed on some issues by my fellow posters on AFF. So I can see why an ultra-con would be alarmed.
Still, this Reckart guy strikes me as a very unhappy guy; someone who doesnt have a lot of joy, and doesnt smile much. He comes off kinda like a car that only has one gear -High.
"Moderate", "non-judgmental", tactful" ... those are not words I'd normally associate with this guy. I really feel bad for him though. If he indeed has he joy of the Lord in his life, you sure dont sense it much from his writings.
Looks like he needs to meditate a bit on
Romans 14:4 "
Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? To his own lord he standeth or falleth. And he shall stand: for God is able to make him stand."
But I guess we're always going to have those types, until Jesus comes.
