As far as a union with Dr.Phil and Bishop Jakes, that show needs his message.
Bishop will be able to minister to people that will never watch christian television. JMO

That's what I was thinking also.
I guess the question I have to some is would they rather people be reached by "some form of Christianity" in hopes they would find the truth OR not hear anything at all since it's not the truth?

I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes "we" need to express the alternative because it may not be known in truth in the world.

OK - let me wade into this. Bishop Jakes said today that he spends multiplied MILLIONS on TBN and "Christian" TV. He said it is absolutely UNGODLY the rates they have to pay and then have to push a project or two just just get the money to pay for being on. He said he is re-evaluating the whole thing and is sick of paying crazy people to air his program.
He said that when he is on the "worldly" shows - they PAY HIM! The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous. Would Oprah make it if she had to peddle tapes at the end of her show to stay on the air - I don't think so!
Those were the comments from Bishop Jakes. This is why Rod Parsley has entered the political arena - he is getting paid to make commentary and do interviews. These guys HATE and I mean with a PASSION - they HATE the So called - CHRISTIAN TV INDUSTRY and what it has become. I have been with MANY of these folks and I can tell you now - they are SICK - SICK - SICK - I mean the Christian TV network owners!
Bishop Jakes is a great man of God and I love and appreciate him so very much!

You know, I have always been troubled by the stranglehold one particular "ministry" has had over "Christian TV." It encourages me to hear that someone like TD Jakes isn't happy to play along. I'd love to see a real uprising within the whole "Christian TV industry." I mean, c'mon! I would be ashamed to be seen in company with some of those people.
So if Dr. Phil is at least part of the way out of the current situation- well, "thank you, Dr. Phil."
And thanks A.B. for that insight. Personally I'd love to see this kind of thing only from my rear-view mirror...
I mean, the magazine has every right to poke fun- and it is a funny cartoon. But how about "believers" not giving them so much material to use.

Paula and a divorced preacher from S.A.? Wouldn't surprise me if it's true.
Now, TBN saying there is a Biblical reason for the divorce is interesting . . . because if i remember right, the Whites stated emphatically there wasn't any infidelity involved. So unless there was a beat-down somewhere, I'd like to know what all TBN views as Biblical reasons to divorce.
Carman called Paula the "Princess Diana of TBN?" He does know the Princess had multiple affairs, right? Is that the point he's making, or something else?

According to the article that announced the divorce, there was no third parties involved. I guess that was the story to start with.

They blame two lives going in different directions.
Randy White, however, said he takes '100 percent responsibility' for the breakup.
'I want to apologize for the poor decisions I've made in my life, to my congregation and to the body of Christ,' he told The Tampa Tribune. 'I think I've let a lot of people down.'
Those regrets, he said, include how he has treated some people, lifestyle changes and being seen in public with women other than his wife, even if it was innocent.
They both said the split involves no third party on either side.

Is this supposed to be strange that television celebrities get divorced?
The Whites were headliners, showmen, and actors. Bright lights and big city, they're the big time.
Didn't the Whites have a house in Malibu? Would Jesus or Paul the Apostle have a house in Malibu?

Dumb.
Would Jesus or Paul sit through a General Conference offering?
Would they even attend it in the first place, seeing as its geared towards religious people and consists of boastful award ceremonies?
Would they be afraid of using television for evangelism?
Most importantly, "would Jesus wear a Rolex on His television show?"

Personally I had to Google the White's to find out who you all were talking about when this thread first came up. That being said, my own sheltered life shouldn't mean that others need to stay on the farm the way I have.
Would Jesus have a house in Malibu? I think if Jesus really had a say in the matter- nobody but Jesus would have a house in Malibu. For reasons of His Own He seems to have delegated who lives where to the real estate people.
But how about you E.B.? You live in the Venice of North America! You've got YACHTS going down your city streets- and the yachts are NOT on trailers- they're in the water. Dude, pack your mukaluks and we'll trade house keys!
I live where the suffering is. You and Benny Hinn both have something going for ya down there!
