here is my suggestion. invite a clinical psycologist to the house and get that guy to admit her to a mental institution. and dont let her out until she is no longer a danger to this house.
Yes, that has already been agreed upon.
Dr. Phil might could help them.

Evidently he has cleaned some stuff that she then junked up. at some point dont you think the guy would just give up?
you guys are acting like this is what happens when "the Man" doesnt help with house work.
newsflash folks, this aint about a house where the man doesnt help and the woman cant keep up.
this is about one person living with another person who is purposefully hording and there is no amount of cleaning that can be done to stay ahead of the wreck.
this woman needs to be treated for insanity or some such. If the guy was doing the junking, I have the clarity to say HE would be the one messed up.
why dont you girls have the same clarity?
LOL! Spoken like a man!
I know there are problems when there is a spouse that hoards and such, but this didn't happen overnight, but in the course of several years. Any house would look that way if cleaning wasn't done in all that time.
It's clear that there are problems, but all he has to do is take out the trash, and I see lots of it in that house.

Ferd, that is just funny, I don't care who you are.

But I believe his post is true to this particular situation.
It looks like to me they both rather "gave" up on the house. Most men help in the house in some way, trash, moving heavy items-my fil vacuums and does laundry.
Does either of them throw anything away??Who knows right?
What doesn't make sense if she is so ill, which I do think she is, why does she do the outside of the house?
Kinda of strange, you would think her illness towards cleaning would apply to both the inside and outside as well.
