I think the word "moderation" could refer to balance. For instance, neither of the extremes (conservative - liberal) are what I would call moderate.

I believe that extreme dress, whether Amish looking or floosey looking, effects how your witness will be accepted. Either extreme could be a stumbling block.

If you are dressed too conservative, potential believers could be turned off thinking that they had to dress like a previous period of time to become a Christian. If one is dressed to liberally, potential believers could question whether you really believed in wholesomeness. They could think of you as "out there!"

A wholesome blend within the given culture would work best!

I KNEW we'd get you sooner or later. Now if only we can convert the shrill emotional liberals and the hate mongering conservatives we might have unity

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Randy, I think you are totally missing the point of what the articlle was about.

And in answer to your assertion, I have been treated extremely well and shown much favor, and I am anything but pedigreed in Pentecost. I am most definitely "the son of a stranger."

I don't buy that deal that you have to be somebody's kid to get noticed. That line is way overused.

Good post.

How true. I've preached all over the world, in places I've never deserved and with men I'm not worthy to share a pulpit with. In the past 12 months I've been in 20 states and 4 foreign countries preaching this truth. I've got some meetings booked up 2 years ahead.

Hard to imagine that my Father hated God, killed my stepmother and beat me senseless time and again for wanting to live for God.

I know what it's like to be the 'Son of the Stranger' watching those kids with pedigrees play with God. I didn't. I've been rewarded many times over.

It would do us all good to remember where promotion comes from. It isn't the north or the south, or east or west.
