That wouldn't be us.

See my thoughts above.

I think he was referring to an org that is moderate to liberal on social issues but conservative on W&S doctrine ...

Loren Yadon is a wonderful teacher and I respect him big time. I will keep him in my prayers. These kind of hurts can define us if we are not careful.

I Love Doctrine/Theology to much to leave the mainstream Apostolic Movment, I am to progressive to find a place to serve and be involved.

PP, K4H, and Sherri, I am currently going through this too. I am more of a Lib than a Mod or a con. Definately not a Con! I not a card member or even a pastor in the UPC. I was at one time a youth pastor. Over my time in the ministry around the UPC I have come to the point were this is not the place I need to be. My wife was raised UPC and is still UPC. She thinks that I am crazy for leaving the UPC. I have been attending CLC here in Tempe, AZ. That church is Pastored by Phil Goldsberry. Sherri and Pastor Eddie are friends with him.

I am at a loss for what to do. I have heard the clarion voice of God, but yet my wife will not follow. I know that I have a place in the kingdom of God. I have been used very strongly in the spoken gifts. Though no one to guide me correctly. My former UPC pastor just let me do my thing, but did not lead me. He was very tough on me behind closed doors. I thank God for the good things I received from him. But I am in the valley of decision. I ask that you all pray for me as well. I am only 26 and feel soooo out of place with little guidance. I have spoken with some people from AFF and they have helped me, but non of them are close to me in geographically.

I have been feeling that God is leading people into a different walk with Him. Outside the UPC, but closer to Him. Away from games and dogmas, but closer to the one the doctrine is about! I will pray for you all especially PP, and K4H. God Bless!

Consider this forum hijacked.

I feel somewhat a Self Martyr complex when I read some of these posts and to me personally that also can become an area where I don't want to be...

Some are not a part because they don't or won't agree to the regulations (if you will) of the UPC... and then there are those in the UPC who want to leave because of the same... not being critical by any means but stating some truth or so it seems..

I think that if at all possible we need to get past some of this stuff that is holding us back whether Con...Mod...or Lib...

It is a politcal hijacking of the mind it seems that says if you are going to do something for God you must be organizationalized..

Where is the line drawn is what this boils down to....

It still has to do with a Standard of living....

Agree or disagree it will boil down to what's in the Bible or what's not...

People will talk...assemble... and attack if you step out of the group...

It just seems to be that way and I personally don't think it will change...

I probaly have many folks saying things about us that I really wouldn't want to know... but I will tell you.. it's tough... it's not easy...and it is impossible to fit back in... because once you have passed thru that door of change (not comprimise) to sit back down or be lead by someone you have no respect for it just doesn't work... it will eat at you if you let it... but if you realize that your relationship with God is much more important to your salvation than your relationship with others (although still much needed) you will be able to grow beyond it and accomplish much for the kingdom...

The greatest obstable is getting beyond that mark... because from the point you leave you'll always carry it in other's eyes...

But true beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what others see is not what God sees... and we are the apple of His eye...

I think that many great paths have been taken by men willing to step up and out of the well worn way and blaze a new Trail for the kingdom of God... Not sacrificing Doctrine or Biblical standards for popularity or money...

Good post Bro.

I don't know that a martyr complex has been present though. Just friends talking and sharing life experiences with each other. Frankly, I think this thread has been quite civil and even soothing,, especially for those who are at a crossroads.

Maybe it didn't come out right.. but it could lead to that... I think.. concerning martyrdom....

But there remains fellowship that is much needed across the board for all of us... but there may be to many differences still to see that happen...
