Just because I think a grown woman looks awful doing these things that look best on the younger gals under 19.

Are you gonna let your kids make their own decisions about drugs, alcohol and sex as well? What about stealing and murder? How do they determine what is sin? Who is teaching them values? A young child needs guiderails.

Frightening!

If our children hear us griping and complaining about how unfair rules are, that makes them start to notice things, then they start grumbling and griping about things, then the next step is to become rebellious about something else they're told they aren't allowed to do. They watch us and listen to us and learn from us, they know more about us than anyone else in the world.
Kind of reminds me of a verse in Matthew.

Mt 23:15 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

But that's not the case here. My son will be instructed to follow the rules.

I hope you weren't assuming that was the case here.

Double standard?
Oh Oh Oh!!! I know the answer to this one, teacher!!!

It's cuz there's nothing sexier than a man's ugly hairy legs!! You wouldn't want to tempt all those girls, wouldja?

I think you're taking Truthseeker's questioning a little far.

Who said he was griping and complaining about anything to his children? He simply voiced his question and concern here.

There's a difference.

We used to attend a church like Bro. Epley's so we just listened to what the preacher told us and obeyed....If we did more than was required, at least we didn't have to worry about mixed signals and double standards...Not condemning anyone who allows things we didn't...but life was simple and what was told to us as right and wrong was just accepted. Please don't attack me for my observations of yester years...I still have an earache..

Right, i wouldn't convey the double standard to him, he will eventually probably pick up on it on his own!
