The wind map is computer generated from numerous data sources, including satellite and radar input. It shows wind speed from surface up to the outer edges of the atmosphere, temperatures, particulates, and numerous other details.

90 to 95 mph winds, a Cat 2 at best, (instead of a cat 4-5)causing this much damage to the Bahamas, you see it like that?
Do you feel like they are lying to us about it’s size as well?

I'm not going to comment on anything NASCAM shows.
All I'm saying is NOAA has a known history of fudging data, the media are pathological liars to begin with, and the global wind map data is what it is. Everyone draw their own conclusions.
By the way, I didn't see "this much damage to the Bahamas" or any other damage in that video.

Re: Hurricane
A quick check on utube shows no comments on any of NASA's satellite videos of Dorian. In fact, they seem to have disabled comments. So that's all I have to say on that.

Re: Hurricane
Here is footage from the Bahamas. Honestly, based on my life experience growing up and living on the Gulf Coast, this looks like Cat2 level damage. Cat5+ with sustained winds of 185 and 220 mph gusts is the equivalent of a 100 mile wide F5 tornado. The island in the video should have been scoured down to nothing but sand in that case.
Please note this, a Cat1 hurricane is no laughing matter, let alone a 2 or 3. Only a fool would think a Cat1 with 95 mph sustained winds is "no big deal". People die in lesser storms, homes are destroyed, lives wrecked. A Cat 1 hurricane is like a massive rotating supercell spread across 100plus mile wide area. You DEFINITELY want to be paid up and prayed up.

You are right! This is insane. When Irma came through they said gusts over a 100 mph. My neighbor who has lived here since the 50s said no way. He said we only had tropical storm conditions. I wanted to argue the point but remembering Irma I kept going out in the hurricane to take care of situations. Winds sure didn’t feel like 100. But Dorian is a slow mover. That I know because of how long it is taking to climb north and east. So, wind speed and rain exaggerated but the rate of movement isn’t because we can estimate that ourselves?

Wednesday will tell the story. We are bracing ourselves and the clouds are rolling in now.

Yes, I have tarps. But would be able to install them until it all passes.
I was up on the roof yesterday and found a roofing nail that came through a shingle. That may have caused an issue in our bedroom. Other than that I have some tree branches on the mango trees that still have to be cleared. Especially the mango close to the main going to the house.

Re: Hurricane
Pray specifically for Sister Amanah, and Navygoat. Navygoat looks like he is right in a huge swath of the path. Pray this storm moves further EAST in JESUS NAME!
