I do not call my giving "tithes". That would not be Biblical.

No one said God didn't fufill His covenant because abolish is a bad word. But tithes and offerings are His model forever for the ministry.

The comparison made was the need for support, not the kind of support. There is NOTHING that points to a New Testament tithe.

Please show one scripture where God says we can now eat shrimp, or wear linen and wool together. Actually, the burden of proof is on YOU to show "one scripture" where God ever demanded a tithe of monetary income, under the Law, before the Law, or after the Law. It's not a question of proving tithing was abolished. Rather, it's a question of YOU proving the system you call tithing EVER existed in either testament. You can't.

Yea all those things are a warning signs to me. My man of God never asks for money. But I've been to churches where they pass the plate around 2 and 3 times. I see how someone is with money before I trust them anyway else. "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."

But I've found when I give God His tenth first I've always been blessed. But I like to be able to give offerings too. That is probably the first thing God set me free from in my walk, was money. I give from a good heart, and I've learned when you cut moneys power over you, the devil becomes crippled in his attacks. Because I testify to you and everyone here "it's impossible to out give God!"

The scripture says with shrimp and scavengers "it shall be an abomination to you." He didn't say it was a "abomination to Him". Everything in Deuteronomy 22 was Cannanite practices. But verse 5 He says "it's an abomination unto Him." That's forever. Just as whatever He says is holy is holy forever!

And Catholics don't give, they pay their way out of purgatory and hell. Big difference.

You give God your best, but you give what HE lays upon your heart. Not through coercion, or vanity. Passing a plate, velvet sock, or bucket works on making people not cheerful, but fearful givers. People totally know how to give and when to give.

Pastors who preach the 10% tithe are really limiting themselves. The NT principle of giving is more than the tithe of the OT law.

Yes, they were to be hysterical givers 2 Corinthians 9:7 to their instructors Galatians 6:6. They weren't to muzzle the oxen who tread their wheat 1 Corinthians 9:9 1, Timothy 5:18. God ordained that the ministry should live from teaching the Gospel 1 Corinthians 9:14-16. Without worry, without frustration because God is the provider.
