Just my opinion, and sorry I strayed off topic...

The Bible testifies to the truth. It stands available to all. If they wanted to shed the traditions of man, and pagan influences, they could. The fact is, they don't want to.

Re: Easter Madness: Is your church an abomination?
As for what we are doing here for Easter/Resurrection Sunday observance...
Our local assembly is having two morning services to accommodate the crowd. Our choir will be singing, as they do every Sunday, but with the thought of the Cross in mind I'm sure.
My former pastor in Elk Grove, CA, has had an Easter drama for several years, and with outstanding results., as have many other churches, POA for example.
The community response for the Rock Church mentioned above has been overwhelming, and there have been many who have come to the Lord through this effort.
And as for POA, Bill Clinton showed up just the other night again to see their production...regardless of how one may feel about he and his companion, any time they can be around the Spirit of the Lord, it's a good thing.
Regardless of how we may feel about it, there are people who don't have our particular conviction re this, and they think that going to church on Easter is a good thing, so who am I to miss an opportunity to give them the Message?
We don't have to have bunnies and eggs to let folks know we are having service, call it what you like, and we would be honored if you would attend.
Again, just my opinion...

I'm not even thinking about pagan traditions...just the fact that we all follow man made traditions in some form or fashion in our churches/services.

I'm largely only concerned with the pagan elements.

Re: Easter Madness: Is your church an abomination?
We're going to have family Bible study at home with bread and the cup.
No Easter baskets. No colored eggs.
We did find some Easter pinatas filled with candy. So, we got two, a bunny and an Easter egg pinata. We'll have them bash the pagan symbols to pieces to get their candy. Lol

And I respect your convictions and principles for your family...
In the same way I would hope you and others would respect a church who has a drama or advertises an Easter service, minus the baskets and bunnies of course.

I'd only advise you call it, Resurrection Sunday, to distinguish it from Easter.
Colored eggs, baskets, ham dinners, Easter egg hunts, magic rabbits, etc. are all pagan influences dating back to the worship of Tammuz and Ishtar.
And technically, the date of the resurrection should be based off of the Passover on the Jewish calendar, not the floating date of the Julian calendar.

If your church was involved with any of these things, it has committed Abomination in the sight of the LORD.
Come out from among them... Come out of her my people, that you not partake in her plagues.
Come out, come out, wherever you are.
