I don't see a problem with such a measure as you describe it. However, I'm dead set against any kind of blanket registry.

No. And I sympathize with your position. But why aren't we talking about immigration reform instead of walls, task forces to root out illegals, etc?

I am also aware that Obama even had boarder fencing put in place.

Re: Clinton/Trump Aides Clash At Harvard Forum
To me, a wall is a silly excuse to ignore comprehensive immigration reform and having to deal justly with illegals who have lived peacefully in our nation for decades and have families.
I'm leery of anything capable of keeping Americans in.

That's what I've read from the Trump team. If that's true, I think it's great. I also would be completely against a blanket registry. It needs to be specific and very narrow.

You've posted that you believe abortion is an issue the GOP refuses to fully deal with in order to have an election year issue.
IMO, both parties do the same with immigration. Neither party is willing to fully address border security or what to do with the millions here already in order to have a wedge issue every 2-4 years. That's why I've claimed this wall Trump has talked about isn't going to happen. He can talk about it all he wants. Congress may even pass a bill to build a wall, as they did in 2006. In 2006, Congress passed a bill to complete a 700-mile, double-layered, 14ft fence. Last I read about it, it was still incomplete and unfinished. And that's just a fence, not a wall that Trump is claiming he will build.
I wouldn't worry about the wall, it won't happen.

I don't think it will happen either. However, it is the mentality of all these outrageous visions put together that causes me pause.

no he is not, no matter how many times you say something is a fact, that does not necessarily make it a fact.
Repeat a lie often enough and people will believe it.
You are a great propagandist.

That's what Trump did to Cruz! Kept saying "Lyin' Ted" enough everyone started believing it.

You're right, we don't need a wall.
If we:
End government welfare for non-citizens,
Put employers in jail who hire illegals,
Rescind NAFTA, GATT, and all the other stupid "free trade" agreements,
Return to an America- and American-First policy,
End "anchor baby" policies,
Enforce deportation laws already on the books,
Then the illegal invasion will end and most illegals would deport themselves.
Thus the required deportations would be comparatively small, no wall needed, and we can get back to being the Greatest Country on Earth once again.
BUT, as long as we continue as a nation to thumb our collective noses at God, the illegals will continue to be a problem.

Perhaps you do not understand that Trump will actually create comprehensive immigration reform instead of just talking about it. He has already stated that many people who are deported will be allowed to return quickly as long as they do not have a criminal record. He simply does not want them becoming citizens and voting.

Poor Ted, got branded by the orange clown.
Do not worry about Ted, our Cheeto president will probably make him a supreme court judge.
