I guess I want to believe that Christians in America have had enough and instead of cowering, they start defending some things.

Want to read something sobering? Read, "Blood on the Altar: The Coming War Between Christian vs. Christian" by Thomas Horn
A brief synopsis:
As the world races toward its momentous end-times encounter between good and evil (known in the Bible as Armageddon), a deepening antagonism is developing worldwide against conservative Christians. According to a 2014 Pew Research Center report, this hostility now includes the United States, which elevated from the lowest category of government restrictions on Christian expressions as of mid-2009 to an advanced category in only the last three years. This trend may point to one of the most overlooked aspects of Bible prophecy a war that ultimately pits born-again believers against religious Christians.
NOW, FOR THE FIRST TIME, IN BLOOD ON THE ALTAR YOU WILL... * Read the Global developments that indicate Antichrist is on Earth and preparing to emerge * Become acquainted with the government report on how true believers will be driven underground * Understand how Religious Christians are set to join Antichrist in persecuting those born-again *
Walk with the authors as they disclose the occult organizations devising psychotronic weapons * Realize what Jesus meant by the Days of Noah and its connection to new genetic horrors * Uncover how the Mark of the Beast will change those who receive it into murderers In Blood on the Altar.
2. Sharon Gilbert’s chapter on Something Wicked This Way Comes will make you think about pulling the plug on your computer and tossing your cell phone in the trash. Truly frightening!
Do I believe everything he says in this book? No, the general premise of "Christians" attacking "Born Again Christians" thinking they are doing God's will I very much do!

I believe people normally turn to God with all their hearts when they are in trouble.
What is your opinion on the parable of the grain of mustard seed? It looks like enormous growth.
I like how JFB described it:
Quote:
and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof — This is added, no doubt, to express the amplitude of the tree. But as this seed has a hot, fiery vigor, gives out its best virtues when bruised, and is grateful to the taste of birds, which are accordingly attracted to its branches both for shelter and food, is it straining the parable, asks Trench, to suppose that, besides the wonderful growth of His kingdom, our Lord selected this seed to illustrate further the shelter, repose and blessedness it is destined to afford to the nations of the world?

I agree & in fact, we grew 30% last year--Woo Hoo!
That being said, not everyone who says they are a Christian--truly are.
Remember the letters to the Seven Church's in Revelation 2 & 3?
Some had actually let Satan infiltrate their congregations.
It blows my mind how many "Evangelical Church's" are accepting the perversion of same sex relations & calling for "open acceptance" rather than a "rebuke!"
A strong delusion is sweeping over the World & it is sobering what is coming down the pike!
Satan, a Devil that hath great wrath for he knows his time is short!

Re: Duggar interview
I feel sorry for everyone involved in the Duggar case. I dont watch their show so I know little about them. It truly smacks of hypocrisy for the media to go after the young man years after the fact. They will praise all manner of sexual abominations among themselves but will turn quite sanctimoneous when it comes to a believer in Jesus doing them.
I hate to think what they would say if they heard my testimony which is far worse than this young mans.

Please tell us what you would have done if you as a parent had discovered your 14-yo son doing this?

Right. It seems that it is not so much the alleged abuse that has everyone on a rampage, but more that it happened in a family who has tried to live a godly lifestyle, and that godly lifestyle is really what is under attack.

What should a Christian do when being defamed?
Jesus said "turn the other cheek".. in the book of Acts they rejoiced to be counted worthy to suffer for His name... and this scripture says it all...
Romans 12:19-21 "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written, vengance is mine, I will repay saith the Lord, Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him, if he thirst, give him drink; for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."

Re: Duggar interview
When I was fourteen, I was no saint when it came to the opposite sex. I didn't have any sisters, but, as any lusty developing former teenager knows (which is likely ALL OF US, if we are honest enough to admit it), we were, at that time, exploding with sexual urges and struggles, as the hormonal changes occurring in us sky-rocketed past the easy-to-control level.
Here is an interesting fact among the Jewish Chasidim. They have very strict rules of conduct and keep all boys and girls separated from each other at all times, except for family members. Marriages are arranged, there is no courting, with boys and girls attending separate schools/yeshivas.
So what happens to these highly sequestered Jews who aren't allowed to spend any time with the opposite sex? When they become teens, and the sexual urges come upon them, they often self-experiment or experiment with members of the same sex.
How secluded of a life did Josh Duggar live? How much did his parents not tell him regarding the "birds and bees"? Sometimes a more restrictive atmosphere causes its own set of problems.
If and since he had no outlet, and if and since he grew up in a very conservative home, and if and since such a discussion is not common between very religious parents and their children, is it any wonder the poor boy's flesh got the better of him?
Name me one person on the planet besides Jesus Christ, who is old enough and physically able who has never participated in some form of lewd or perverse sexual behavior at least once in their life, or at least thought about it. Anyone who wants to crucify Josh Duggar for this ought to join him on the cross they're preparing for him.
It doesn't mean what he did was right or okay. But only someone without sin should be casting the first stone.
