Re: SMH
Apostolic Assembly[/Asamblea Apostolica
Church, let me first say that I have never been a “member” of the Apostolic
Assembly. However, it was a pastor in the Apostolic Assembly that the Lord
used to confirm the Apostolic Doctrine in me, and another pastor in the UPCI
that did likewise. This happened in 1982.
The allegations against the Apostolic Assembly are being presented in error.
Yes, there has been a division in the Assembly; however, it was not initiated
by the Board of Directors. It was perpetrated by people, some of which were
pastors, that decided to ignore the governing principles of the Assembly.
Every minister, in every denom, is called to agree to certain conditions. When
a minister can not, will not, or ceases to agree with the Corporate Ministry,
then the fellowship with that denom becomes moot. That is what happened
there. Some ministers ceased to agree with the Directors, and deemed that
the land, building(s), and other holdings belonged to them and the local
assembly in particular, and did not belong to the Corporation.
The disagreement was fiduciary in nature, and did not involve a departure
from the gospel or sound doctrine…although some may not have agreed with
a particular doctrine and may have taken this as an opportune moment to
oppose on minor, or finer points. The biggest error occurred when the
detractors took the matter to the civil courts: before the unbelievers…and
now some are spreading gossip!
I ask your prayers for ALL the saints involved in this matter.
