Hmm, that can't be right. It's what I do, and look where it got me!
exactly; you are in an enviable (envyable?) position.
Plus, you've indicated that you are not aware of Scriptural discernment?
Bible Code? Seriously?
Hmm, I don't mean to go looking for English phrases in the Pentateuch, necessarily--I understand that can be done with War and Peace--but the math of the probabilities involved, being so much higher for the Pentateuch, I found interesting. Never read the book, tho.

So, anyway. Let's start here: Is 1 John inspired by God? Is it true? Is it infallible?

Thought about making a poll, but there are too many to choose from.
1. Protestant
2. Protestant, without the ones Martin Luther didn't like
3. Roman Catholic
4. Ethiopian Orthodox
5. Eastern Orthodox
6. Armenian Apostolic (has a catchy name, don't you think?)
7. Coptic Orthodox
8. Syriac Orthodox
9. Greek Orthodox
10. Slavonic Orthodox
11. Georgian Orthodox
12. Other (I know this list isn't complete. Find another one you like, or make you own!)

Unless you think it's not an important question to answer.

By the way, I should have included another possible choice:

Um, not sure how we got on I John; but personally, I tend to believe "This Book, and another" refers to the NT, and so I would answer "yes" to the first two, and "it depends upon your premises" to the last.
There are no secrets, imo.

Mmmmmmkay.....
(I mentioned I John because that's where you got your never-fails, guaranteed method of discerning spirits. I think. I John 4.)
