Yes, you do need to do the math because, her numbers don't add up.
I will agree with you that Rush took it too far calling her a slut. His choice of wording wasn't especially genteel, but his point was spot on.
We need to keep the narrative where is belongs - infringement on religious rights.
It is not against the law for anyone to obtain any form of contraception. The women could drive anywhere in her area and purchase what she needs. Her cost analysis is way off and that should be addressed as well.
But, back to the women's rights issue, if that is where you want to frame it - it is a shame that we are coddling her behaviour. So proud of you for standing up for premarital sex! You go girl! Group hug!!
Totally insane......

lol, stop being deceitful. She never said it was for premarital sex. You simply assumed it was because you apparently assume the worst for anyone on birth control who is unmarried. You should stop implying things about the lady that she did not say.

You stop being deceitful.
"When I look around my campus, I see the faces of the women affected by this lack of contraceptive coverage."
Are you prepared to tell me that all of these women are married? And, exactly, what does a face look like that lacks contraceptive coverage? Dog day afternoon?

I'm not sure, but this is the average face and reaction of a girl in college who finds out she's pregnant...

I would wager Timmy or Randy W would come up with something better.

Who cares if they are married or not?
Just as I do not know if they are all using birth contraceptive for sex or not, you do not know if they are using it for other medical issues or not.
That is the point. Stop jumping to conclusions over a total stranger based on your personal feelings. It's ignorant. Neither of us should do that.

Do you promote pre-marital sex? Because the proportion of women on birth control to regulate things is not as high as those using it for contraception.

I did not engage in pre-marital sex, but I am not in a position to tell anyone else what they should do in their private time.
Sandra Fluke was not promoting pre-martial sex either, which is my point. You and most others are assigning actions and dialog to her that she never did or said in her testimony.

Re: Has Rush Limbaugh finally gone too far?
This is interesting from her testimony.
Quote:
For my friend and 20% of the women in her situation, she never got the insurance company to cover her prescription.
She’s gay. So clearly polycystic ovarian syndrome was a much more urgent concern than accidental pregnancy for her.
After months paying over $100 out-of-pocket, she just couldn’t afford her medication anymore, and she had to stop taking it.
Without her taking the birth control, a massive cyst the size of a tennis ball had grown on her ovary. She had to have surgery to remove her entire ovary as a result.
She’s 32-years-old.
As she put it, ‘If my body indeed does enter early menopause, no fertility specialist in the world will be able to help me have my own children. I will have no choice at giving my mother her desperately desired grandbabies simply because the insurance policy that I paid for, totally unsubsidized by my school, wouldn’t cover my prescription for birth control when I needed it.’
|
So, my question is, is Sandra Fluke gay also? According to Georgetown University’s website Sandra Fluke was co-founder of “New York Statewide Coalition for Fair Access to Family Court”.

Re: Has Rush Limbaugh finally gone too far?
So you are taking the position that since she didn't state exactly, "I have so much promiscuous sex that I can't afford my own contraception" that calling her a slut was incorrect or false right?
Despite the fact that hs ehad JUST SAID that 4 in 10 of her classmates were indeed having so much sex they couldn't afford the $3000 it would cost them for contraception andf then implied she herself was one who needed the financial help paying for it.
Only a lefty could see what she said and come away thinking, "oh Im sure she is isn't sleeping around. She probably just needs the pill to regulate her cycles and can't afford the $10 a month that pills cost".
