America has survived many shut downs. And if the liberal democrats were all that worried about it, cared an iota, they would have passed a budget last year when they were suppose to and when they had complete control of all three branches of the government. They should be ashamed to even get before the American people and speak, imo.

President Obama was told that 2 Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq. To everyone's surprise, Obama collapsed onto his desk, head in his hands, visibly shaken, almost in tears. Finally, he composed himself and asked, "Just how many is a brazilian?"

Our economy, contrary to liberal thought, is not built on government spending. Our economy survives in spite of it. Obama is a believer in Keynsian economics. I understand why he said what he said. I just can't believe anyone with a shred of smarts believes it.

Libs want to "raise revenue" by increasing taxes. History has proven that raising taxes has the opposite effect. In truth, Reagan's tax cuts, Clinton's tax cuts and Bush's tax cuts all increased revenues becaus eof the increase in economic activity. Taxation is punitive. Cutting taxes allows for more freedom to invest, spend and build businesses.

The Paul Ryan budget for 2011 is only seeking for spending to return initially to 2008 levels. That's how much spending has increased under Obama: by simply dialing back to 2008, we would begin to move in the right direction economically.

Latest news I heard this morning says that the military will not get their checks although they will get the backpay. That makes me a little nervous as I have a son-in-law in the navy and he and my daughter are fairly close to living hand to mouth.

The shut-down WILL have repercussions on the economy.

How on earth that escapes people's memories or knowledge is mind boggling.

This lies squarely in the laps of democrats. Yet the latest poll says people hold them responsible by only 3 points more then the republicans.
The republicans have been trying to get this thing done! They've passed H.R.1! It's the democrats who are holding things up and this budget is just chump change. What on earth will it look like when they really have to get to work and fix this deficit. I shudder to think.

And Obama's approval rating is 49%! Do people even pay attention to what's going on?????
