It's a very weird feeling to know I was just sitting in the airport in Tokyo just a couple weeks ago. While we were in the Philippines, we experienced two earthquakes. That was something I hadn't felt since I was about 10 years old. Pretty spooky feeling!
So much devastation in our world! Eddie preached today on "Signs of the Times" - pretty thought provoking stuff and totally out of character for him to preach on something like this.
"Many Christians do not try to understand what was written in a verse in the Bible. Instead they approach the passage to prove what they already believe."
From the "Sense of Dread" thread. I take not delight in being such an awesome prophet:

The tragic earthquake struck at 2011/03/11 12:46:23 PM.
That's kind of like prophesying that someone is going to die today.
Actually, there are hundreds of earthquakes EVERYDAY.
But, I agree. You are awesome.

One thing that stood out to me in the news coverage is they stated that there would no looting - - it's not even an option for the Japanese culture. They respect one another - - wouldn't that be refreshing here in America.

I am pasting a link to a cool page MSNBC has up. It is a series of 21 pictures of Japan with a slider below the pics that you can move back and forth to see before and after pictures of the destruction. It is unbelievable. Once you click on the link scroll down a little and you will see "Interactive Pictures". That is where you want to go.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
