Agree on the modern day muslims part ,he also specificaly mentioned the thigh area being covered which i took to mean he felt comfortable with the knee area on skirts,i think he did mention that you do have to sit ladies so keep that in mind too, interesting about the history of pants and facial hair etc. Good message.

When I was in high school, the guys who played football had to shave their heads when the season began. They came from all walks of life... country boys, preppy guys, jocks. Nevertheless, they went to the barber before training began. It set them apart from the rest of the guys at school.

I know of 2 universities off the top of my head who require their girls in chorale to wear only dresses/skirts. I have read their policies, and they have sleeve length/neckline stipulations... and these schools are FAR from being apostolic. Again, it sets them apart from other girls on campus.

Even the New York Yankees have had a "no facial hair/long hair" policy, and guys know when they sign on, they've gotta get a razor. They are held to a different standard than other MLB teams.

Yet when a pastor wants people to abide by certain guidelines, suddenly we scream heresy. Is it because it's a "church" and not a school/business/athletic department... or do we just not want someone telling us what to do? This has puzzled me for years.
I would be in agreement with you if it was his church but I thought it was .................

I think Paul believed that also.
But it did not stop him from expounding on some issues and providing solutions.
Right?

That is a tired argument ,the fact is he is the pastor and will have to answer to almighty God, if you would listen to the sermon ,you would here him say for some of this i dont have scripture but i do believe i have wisdom. If you dont want to be led by him, and your in here his church, just leave.Just listen before you judge,he is as balanced and biblical as there is.

It is no tired argument to say that the church is the Lord's. Pastors are enjoined by God to preach the word of God, not their personal preferences.

Clearly the case can be made that dope is illegal and harmful to the temple of the Holy Ghost. Quick scriptural references and parallels can be drawn.

How possibly does one do that with beards? If it's attempted then the conclusion might be that beards are required... Certainly not forbidden.

Never said anything about beards, also in some places smoking pot isnt illegal. My point was just that pastors do have a right to give their wisdom drawn desires, when its not chapter and verse, to the congregation and people should honor them by following them.Someone said strictly preach the bible and let everyone do their own thing by extension, which is ridiculous.Bro Pixler attempted to do that in a very balanced and biblical way in the sermon referenced post 35 starting at the 30:50 mark roughly. Its worth listening to since he is known as quite conservative GIB
