That's why it is a dnagerous thing to do.

Let's not make this silly.

Obviously robbing banks isn't a hallmark of those who espouse the PCI position; but becoming disillusioned to the point of making incredibly bad choices is sometimes an effect of having the foundation of your faith ripped out from under you.
I still think you are getting the carriage ahead of the horse. I think it is clear he was headed down a path that ultimately did not include God or Pentecost in any shape or form. Old time Pentecost and lib Pentecost were just stops in the road for him.

You blaming lib Pentecost for his state makes as much sense as me blaming his conservative UPC upbringing on him turning out the way he did.

The truth of the matter is that there is a character flaw at work here and I have a suspicion perhaps some "enviromental" factors.

Bottom line is when a person breaks from a correct relationship with God and relies on his own intellect alone he is doomed for failure and disaster. If not in this life then in the one to come.

Submission to God's word and Spirit is not exclusive to old time Pentecost and when people lay that down they are doomed.

I doubt very seriously he laid that down at the point he was a lib Pentecostal.
We were just a bump in his proverbial road.

The logic here reminds me of those folks who backslide, engage in sin and let go of standards. Then racked with guilt and remorse they pray back through to old time Pentecost again. They then loudly trumpet how they "went liberal" but then saw the light and came home. On FCF and NFCF without exception the few times someone posted something like that when I questioned them I would find out that during the time they were supposedly a liberal Pentecostal they were not even attending church regularly, not praying, not being led by the Spirit, etc. In other words they were bogus. They were not lib Pentecostals. They were just plain backslid.

ROFL!!! Further proof I cannot multitask.

Usually CS does get the horse in front of the carriage so I probably posted that from habit.

On a serious note this whole situation is a very sad one that distresses me. I am praying for Nathan.

CC1, I got the biggest chuckle in a long time over that horse business. Too funny.

How's Nashville? I hate we couldn't do a little coffee while we were there.

Nashville is great!!! I am really enjoying the warm weather and earlier sunrises and later sunsets.

We are enjoying the porch of our new home a lot. We sit in rocking chairs like an elderly couple and drink coffee in the mornings.

Next time you make it hear we can try again for that cup of coffee or lunch or something.

I will come through Memorial day weekend going to the dedication service at Columbia but time will be limted and I will have guests with me or I would try to connect. I will be in service Sunday night and Monday for the dedication.

Did they rebuild the same church they had or is the new one bigger, smaller, different style?

I know they have to be glad to have this ordeal over with.

Are you preaching?

Nathan had a boatload of emotional baggage from various life events he had encountered before and through all this stuff.

They built exactly the same with very modifications. I hope they got rid of that radio Shack pa. No I am not preaching. Sunday night Edwin Young from Junction City, Ks. that took Elder Westburg's church is preaching and Monday Missionary Stephen Wheeler is dedicating the church. I think the service is around noon Monday.
