Re: JR Ensey Chimes in on Hair Laying: Dec. 2010
LOL.
Ensey reminds me of Dwight Eisenhower walking on eggs when he really wanted to blast Joe McCarthy.
He said: "When you kill a rat, you have to be careful you don't blow down the whole barn."
Then he used Richard Nixon as his hatchet man.
Kind of a halfhearted rebuke, but good for Ensey that he's not totally looking the other way.

So to answer your question, no one.

Good grief.. that's so pathetic.

Ideas have implications. Believing uncut hair as a biblical mandate creates tensions similar to what AQP posted. But most don't just stop there: the woman's uncut, long, flowing hair is her glory and a way to find this mystical authority in God. See how convoluted a mess we can make with this chapter?
I think you know and are aware that it's not as tidy and simplistic as you stated.

Part of their problem is understanding what Paul meant by "glory". I wasn't speaking about an ethereal force nor was he speaking about women in the church, but women in general.
Look at our society today, Hair is a big big issue for women, more so than guys. It's a source of pride

Absolutely. I'd love to have a dollar for every time I hear a woman mention their hair, hairstylist, hairdo, etc. Men occasionally joke about going bald, or needing a haircut and that's about it.

Right and during Paul's day their society was no different.

Hang on here. IF a minister had been brought up at a round table that was teaching it was ok for a woman to cut her hair, I doubt that the response would have been, that he will "catch on".

Well, yes. That is exactly right. As it is brought up again and again and again, because the magic hair doctrine helps to propagate the uncut one, it is given a free pass.

I don't want everything to be negative here but it seems to me the reason they don't touch this issue is the ends justify the means here in making women not cut their hair

I agree. I think they're afraid that if they come out strongly against this, women will think - "Well, if there's no power in it, I might as well cut it." The idea that there's some special power in uncut hair makes women WANT to not cut their hair.... achieving the desired result - uncut hair.
