Ultimately, if a woman cuts her hair, or a man has long hair, he/she is out of the will of God. And of you're out of the will of God, he doesn't have to listen to you're prayers.

I'm just curious... since when do people think God "has to" listen to anyone's prayers? He promises to hear us if we repent, not if we leave our hair uncut. There are a lot of unrepentant women with uncut hair. I seriously doubt their sins are overlooked simply because they haven't cut their hair. It is definitely a strange teaching, isn't it?

No idea. I believe this is where an aspect of the "light doctrine" comes in to play. Women who have never been told that it's against God will to cut their hair will still hear from God, and visa-versa. However, If you have been taught this, and you "choose" to disobey, then your in trouble.

I'll find the quote shortly. But LS quotes M.D. Treece quite a bit.

"You women are powerful. Powerful. And it all has to do with your hair." (around 4:30)
At the very beginning of part 2: "women walk in a realm, when they do not cut their hair, which is absolutely miraculous."
Sorry, there's a bunch more, but I can only stomach so much LS at one time. His historical information is extremely inaccurate in several places. Women cut their hair in the 1800s. Though the fashion dictated a preference for long hair, it was still cut. Often a girl would give her lover a lock of hair to remember her by. In Victorian times these locks were even woven into wall decorations and even watch fobs. Cut hair had nothing to do with women's lib or rebellion, and women's lib in the 20s wasn't about women being rebellious, it was about them not being beaten, abused, or disrespected. It was about them being able to survive if their husbands died and about not living on a shoestring while their husbands went off drinking and carousing.

Re: Did Dan Alicea Write the Script for "Tangled"?
Anyway I look at it, this doctrine (or whatever it's called) gives the glory to something other than God.
It's bad enough if it's to a human being, but giving glory to hair is mind boggling.
The power we have is the Holy Ghost, not hair.
The enemy will use whatever, whoever to hinder the work of God. What a waste of time to preach on such things.
It must break God's heart to see His people hindering and hurting each other over such nonsense.
What a huge burden to place on women.

Re: Did Dan Alicea Write the Script for "Tangled"?
I just now read the local movie review in Thursdays' paper. Based on our reviewer it does make one think that DA was the author of this new "cartoon".
