Many atheists are. They consider themselves thinkers (we know otherwise), but that's what appeals to them about smaller, limited government.

They are right - we need smaller government. I don't know how they are going to reverse that with so many on the government dole today. It can only be about education and jobs to pull us out of this.

Guess he was scared into running toward the middle. LOL! Looks like he is getting ready to extend Bush's tax cuts - by pressure only. You can't cut taxes unless you cut spending.

It's about time he did something remotley resembleing that he might just have listened to the voters.
It's a start, but boy does he have a looooong way to go.

On a side note: I wish my husband's salary had just been "froze" instead of totally done away with this summer.

On a postive note: Jesus is our Provider and the One we lean on...

They sure are. The Austrian school is one that doesn't lend itself to modern computer modeling.

Modern neoclassical economics has made a number of important discoveries which Austrian economists for the most part have not appreciated.

Ludwig von Mises writings really discuss issues that havn't been relevant for 50 years.

Re: Libertarian economics.

Coadie, what is the underpinning for your economics philosophy?

When you have time, of course, professor. I would imagine you are quite busy running a hospital, teaching at a university, inventing the cure for horrendous diseases and providing political consulting services... so only when you have time.

Well, because Libertarians believe they are protected. Makes sense they'd congregate there.

Drew Carey is a Libertarian. There's a celebrity shocker. Ayn Rand... well, it would seem she'd find more in common with this party.

Many identify with Libertarianism (myself included), but aren't fully in line with all libertarian party positions (even *gasp* Glenn Beck has said he's more of a Libertarian). So... which type of Libertarian are you?

For Libertarians to be more electable, they definitely need to broaden their appeal to all those groups above. Idealistic Island can be lonely.

Does second hand smoke from a dope smoker make one a second hand dope?
