The question isnt has the climate sifted. the question is why?

I have not seen a single study that suggested CO2 was the cause that didnt have holes punched into it by very qualified scientists.

I have not seen a single study by a palioclimatologist that has proven this warming is greater than prevous warmings that has not been completly debunked.
Since science vs. science is always in a state of affirming and debunking who are we to believe? In a very real sense, we can't believe anyone. Everyone has motive and agenda.

However, when looked at ethically, which path would be the most prudent? What are the costs of being wrong on this one?

you dont spend trillions sending American tax money to third world countries...

you dont do that.

and you dont trust scientists who have been proven to be twisting their data to achieve an end. Mann, Jones and Briffa both fit that.

I've not advocated sending any money to third world countries. And scientists and politicians on both sides have been accused of distorting data. So this means very little.

Global Warming or not...

Is it possible that the greatest moral issue of our time is our responsibility to the planet and to all its inhabitants?

Re: How's That Global Warming Thing Working for Yo

has it ever snowed in Atlanta?

Wikipedia
The coldest temperature ever recorded was −9 °F (−23 °C) in February 1899.[43] A close second was −8 °F (−22 °C), reached in January 1985.[43] Atlanta has a more temperate climate than other southern cities of the same latitude due to its relatively high elevation of (1,050 feet (320 m) above sea level.

Like the rest of the southeastern U.S., Atlanta receives abundant rainfall, which is relatively evenly distributed throughout the year. Average annual rainfall is 50.2 inches (1,275 mm).[44] An average year sees frost on 36 days; snowfall averages about 2 inches (5 cm) annually. The heaviest single storm brought 10 inches (25 cm) on January 23, 1940.[45] Blizzards are rare but possible; one hit in March 1993. Frequent ice storms can cause more problems than snow; the most severe such storm may have occurred on January 7, 1973.[46]

Ok it's been colder and it has snowed before.

If global warming is true, we can expect this to happen with more frequency. The case is still open. It's not a case closed as the right makes it out to be.

Re: How's That Global Warming Thing Working for Yo

The problem with Global warming is that anytime the evidence changes they say the theory actually supports that evidence.

If its warmer thats global warmning.
If its colder thats actually what global warming does.
If some ice melts then global warming did that.
If some ice reforms then somehow global warming is responsible too.

Isn't it strange that every scenario that happens somehow fits the global warming paradigm?
------------------

There is a story I once heard. I don't know if it is true or not. It was about a man who was trying to create a machine to predict the weather. However, he found out that weather was so chaotic that even a butterfly's wings flapping in Brazil could cause a Hurricane to happen in Florida.

I say that to say this. There is no doubt that anything we do has an impact on the weather. The question may not even by how much of an impact but instead if our actions could have as much of a chaotic effect as the butterflys wings then regulating or deregulating isn't going to really matter because if the system is soo chaotic then doing less could have just as many disastorous impacts as doing more.
