Re: WPF church back on the offensive?

Jeffrey:
You are correct, and yes they are upset and angry, because they are losing their power base, their influence, and in some cases their livelihood. The truth of the matter is that, the Fiery Pillar is moving again and they aren't willing to move with it. They will eventually fade away and become irrelevant but the path of the Just will grow brighter and brighter unto the perfect day.

That would be correct. It would be so good to see the Church back in its original intent and the world reached.

Re: WPF church back on the offensive?

todays rhema word

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8R1E...mbedded#at=525

not too much new information

one thing he keeps repeating is 1 Peter 2:9 saying "show forth the praises" means that you are literally parading some literal, visible characteristic, really every translation (or if you knew old english you'd understand this) the idea here is not "showing" but proclaiming. he has repeated this on every lesson, making this small blemish somewhat redundant.

todays points
1. god is invisible and wants to make himself visible (but some theologians would say it this way: god is unknown and wants to make himself known)

2. love goes out from itself to seek an object. god was manifested in flesh of christ.

3. we are the temple of the holy ghost.
(who doesn't agree with this. the behavior paul was correcting when he used this metaphor was that of adultery, fornication and promiscuity, not sleeve length and make-up).

4. separation is the most basic biblical doctrine in the bible
maybe. we are separated. his grace sets us apart. the mind of christ sets us apart. his law of love sets us apart. there are certainly clear distinctions between those called of christ and those not.

the saga continues

It is shocking to hear of a Christian saying this, considering, among other things, the upper room experience recorded in Acts, and Paul's saying to the Corinthians, "I thank my God I speak in tongues more than ye all.

Consider the abuse they've experienced. And throw in to the scriptures list: I prefer you prophesy rather than speak in tongues (conduct for public worship).

I love that part of our experience. But I can certainly (and sadly) understand why some are discouraged from the emotional abuse they've endured through manipulators that thought they were spiritual.

Re: WPF church back on the offensive?

Jeffrey, it likewise saddens me that people have been so abused. That is a terrible thing. Yet I still cannot understand any Christian making such a remark about something that is clearly set forth in the Bible. As you, I love that part of our experience, and I'm grieved to hear of someone so disillusioned and hurt as your friends.

God help us. God help us all to be fully engaged in God's plan for this world, which surely does not include mistreatment of His people.

I pray for your friends.

Re: WPF church back on the offensive?

If the Apostolic Movement is in trouble, which I don't believe it is. Dr. Wilson nor any other Apostolic minister should be proclaiming that fact in a BLOG or YouTube for everyone to see and hear. That's very much like our president apologizing to our enemy's. Much of what the good Dr. says may be correct and needs to be said but it should be said to our Apostolic leaders at GC or Ministers meetings and to our saints in Wednesday night Bible study. Those are the times to hang out the dirty laundry.

I disagree. The "saints" are a low-class society of lay men. Paul wrote his concerns plain to the churches in an Epistle. Even his letters to Pastors (pastoral epistles) were to be circulated throughout the whole church. This Secret Society, save it for behind closed doors stuff is not Biblical.

Indeed, the conservative Apostolic movement is in some trouble. Maybe that's from his perspective locally, or from what he's seen talked about among his ministerial friends, or even what he observes as trends of believers flocking toward particular pastors.

Or, as paraphrased:

"Dress the part" so people will know you are a real Christian
