Re: Annointed apostolic screaming...I mean preachi
In Pentecostal and Charismatic churches there is a misconception that being loud is being anointed, alot times young preachers feel if they don't scream they are anointed, where being loud got equated with the anointing I don't know ?
Some people who are anointed are rather quiet, also a man of God can teach and preach the word of God without screaming.

While at the same time, many preachers fear those in the pew thinking that way, so they scream. I think its a a common apostolic misconception in "our day". Does anyone out there attend an assembly that does not have any screaming at all, or atleast is very uncommon, in the weekly preaching?
My church has very little "screaming" in the preaching. Usually I do the preaching, but early on in my ministry (in another church) I was "sat down" because my "delivery" wasn't "pentecostal" enough, and I needed to work on it. Translation, scream and pound the pulpit.
What I didn't (and still don't) get is how so many preach with all this screaming (which I'm not against someone raising thier voice, so long as its sincere-not manufactured or taught), but yet they say so little. You leave and really can't remember what the topic or message was, especially by the next day. I remember many of the antics. Men taking their coats off swinging them above their heads, standing on the pulpit, putting a Bible in the middle of the aisle and having the saints walk over it, someone putting sytraphome (sp?) to-go boxes on the alter (get your blessing to go!), and the like.
How many times did I hear the gospel preached, grace, holiness (not outward standards), or for that matter scripture preached in simple context (verses an allegorical, make it mean what you want it to mean fashion)?
Anyhow, perhaps those things helped me, because, even though I have never quite gotten down the "delivery" I have found that God is able to help the congregation if I will simply put in the time to pray to study, and be who God made me to be, and use the talents He did give me (and not ones that man told me I need). I think that when your real it goes a long way with people who are not simply at church for a show, or to be impressed, who won't be there in a year anyway.
I'm not against anointed preaching, in fact there ain't nothing like it. But my point is screaming equaleth not the anointing.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths

Blame Shaq for getting me to thinking.
Why is it in Spirit Filled churches if a preacher is long-winded he is thought to be anointe ?,now I understand one can't put a time limit on the Holy Ghost but people can only stand what their backsides will let them.
Imagine going to a great meal and the host kept bringing on great food, even before you have digested anything and swallowed it more was brought to you.
Very often people in church hear so much in one setting they can't comprehend it all,it seems to me if something sticks with people it is better than alot they can't digest.
Why do preachers think it is annointed to be longwinded ?
And there are times when preachers need alot of time to share what God has laid on their hearts for the people.

There they can find plenty of fault.
There some who preach for 2 hours and it feels like 15 minutes, and you buy all their CD's after the service. There are others who preach for 20 minutes and you wonder when they are going to end it...
