I think some of your rigid churching is causing you some problems. Your brain hears something like that and sirens and red flashing lights go off. In his world it's nothing - wouldn't EVEN understand how that could be offensive to you.

People like you are in favour of long skirts....cause it could be something sexual/pornographic if one wears a short skirt, that's absurd!
Nude posing at art sessions is nothing sexual or pornographic.........

I think you are barking up the wrong tree here.

LOL!
People who are willing to pose in the nude and think nothing of it certainly have their boundary back a lot further than I do!

That's what I am wondering. And, if "rigid churching" is rearing it's head, I really have no idea how to categorize this guy in my head. Because it was NOT a sexual comment, but sheesh, I'm not sure I can think of him the same way after this either. Or should.

Just think of him as a very artistic, cultured individual.

It makes me wonder what OTHER boundaries he has. Seriously, since leaving the UPC, I have trouble with these issues. Everything used to be cut and dried. I would have chalked him up as a heathen and moved on. But, this is a respectable guy that I have admired in talking to him otherwise, before I knew this. He is great with his son. He loaned me a book on anger issues after we talked about it one day. I think he would think I was a bound up fundamentalist whacko if I told him I thought that was wrong.

Seriously? I would look at him no differently. I don't think this makes him not respectable. It truly is different than being a porn star.
I know what you mean about leaving the UPC throwing you off balance. Sometimes having all the rules clearly defined truly is easier. In some respects. More complicated in others.

I said, "Modeling?" and he said, yes, I was a nude model about 100 pounds ago and then he went on with the conversation. To him, he seemed to be mentioning a statement of fact, but I was floored that he would casually tell me this. I poker-faced my way through the conversation and then went and hid in the back until he left. I told my supervisor what he had said because she could see I was flustered and she seemed like she may have been more amused/disturbed by my reaction than by the fact that this guy just told me openly that he was a nude model. Sometimes, I don't know how to live in this world......

I did modeling work myself "about 100 pounds ago" (more like 50) and with a full head of hair. I was selected because I was a pretty snappy dresser in those days, a "conservative" sort of snappy. Ronald Reagan had just taken office so things were looking my way sartorially.
You can still find some of my "work" online and at selected Christian book sellers.
