The Curve would have been my second choice. The Epix has wiFi as does the Bold - but not the Curve (I am told) Guess i will be the Nerd then - I will have mine on the belt 100% of the time.
If using a web based mail (like Yahoo) then showing the e-mail as read should be a given no matter how or where it is read.
I have a curve and it has wifi, there is more than one model of the curve.

I've had a Moto Q for about a year. Has been a good phone, and great for music. I do a lot of texting, and while it is internet capable, I don't use it for that.
In my area, Verizon is still tops, and the best phones I have had are Motorolas' and Nokias'.

That's what I have also. I've had it for nearly two years and am completely pleased with it. Windows Mobile, Office Mobile, wi-fi, slide-out qwerty keyboard, etc. My only problem lately was since I upgraded to the new Windows Mobile 6.1 I've noticed some times where I have to touch the screen several times to get it to do what I want. I would attribute it to the age of the device, but it's only since the upgrade. That's Microsoft, though, eh?
I also have a Blackberry Curve for work. I'm becoming more and more a fan of the Blackberry where I wasn't at first. As Derrick said earlier, when you're using the Enterprise Blackberry Service for Exchange email, you just can't get any better.
